The dates for by-elections for 9 assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh have been announced. Various parties including BJP, Samajwadi Party, and BSP have announced the names of their candidates. Congress has decided not to participate in this by-election. Karhal assembly seat has become the center of discussion in this by-election. There is going to be a contest between Lalu Prasad Yadav and Mulayam Singh Yadav’s son-in-law on this assembly seat. BJP has fielded the Mulayam family’s son-in-law Anuj Yadav from Karhal. On the other hand, SP has given a ticket to Lalu Prasad Yadav’s son-in-law Tej Pratap Yadav from Karhal. This seat has become vacant after Akhilesh Yadav’s resignation.
What is the relationship between the two candidates?
BJP’s Anuj Yadav is the cousin brother-in-law of SP chief Akhilesh Yadav and brother-in-law of SP MP from Azamgarh Dharmendra Yadav. Let us tell you that Dharmendra is the cousin of SP chief Akhilesh Yadav. Whereas, SP candidate from Karhal Tej Pratap Singh Yadav is the uncle of BJP candidate Anuj. Tej Pratap is also the son-in-law of RJD chief and former Bihar CM Lalu Prasad Yadav.
The Karhal assembly seat of Uttar Pradesh is considered to be the stronghold of the Samajwadi Party. The main contest on this seat is believed to be between SP and BJP. In such a situation, it will be interesting to see which leader wins this seat.
When will the voting take place?
The Election Commission on Tuesday announced the date of by-elections on 9 assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh. However, the date of a by-election in Milkipur has not been announced. Voting will be held on all 9 assembly seats of UP on November 13. The results of all the seats will be declared on November 23 along with the results of the Maharashtra and Jharkhand assembly elections.
