Suspense crime, Digital Desk : Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor, accompanied by her children Samaira and Kiaan, traveled to Delhi today for the funeral of her ex-husband, businessman Sunjay Kapur. The family was seen at a private airport in Mumbai, making the somber journey to pay their final respects.
Sunjay Kapur passed away at the age of 53 on June 12 after suffering a heart attack while playing polo in Windsor, London. A close friend of Prince William, Kapur's sudden death has sent shockwaves through his circles. Initial reports suggested a bee sting may have triggered the event, though an official cause of death has not yet been formally released.
At the airport, Samaira and Kiaan were seen dressed in white and were described as being visibly sad. Karisma, also in somber attire, handled the airport formalities, guiding her children through the process with composure.
The final rites are scheduled to be held at Delhi's Lodhi Road Crematorium today at 5 pm. The Kapur family, including Sunjay's mother Rani Surinder Kapur, his wife Priya Sachdev, and his children—Samaira, Kiaan, and Azarias—issued a formal note announcing the funeral. A subsequent prayer meeting will be held at the Taj Palace in New Delhi on June 22.
Karisma Kapoor and Sunjay Kapur were married in 2003 and had two children before their divorce was finalized in 2016. At the time of his passing, Sunjay was married to Priya Sachdev, with whom he has a son, Azarias. Karisma's presence at the funeral is a significant gesture of solidarity and respect for the father of her children.
