As the war between Russia and Ukraine reaches its 1235th day, the war has taken a hefty toll, damaging various cities like Chernivtsi where it is said to be “bleeding” while the regional leaders attempt to boost morale. The continuous Russian attacks on civilian infrastructure and population are amplifying the suffering and devastation that goes unchecked.

In contrast to the destruction faced, Mykolaiv Oblast Governor Vitalii Kim was reportedly seen “cheering” which could indicate some success with morale boosting in the context of Ukrainian fortitude and defeats inflicted upon Russian forces within in his region, serving as a slight relief amid the pain.

While this is happening, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy makes his appeals to allies for military aid, focusing on acquiring an advanced patrolling arsenal. Expecting “Patriots”, US made missed defense system, Zelenskyy is undergoing endless aerial assaults along with the rest of Ukraine so he outlining his plea only displays the reliance Ukraine has on Western aid for military assistance.
