Suspense crime, Digital Desk : In a notable shift in political alignment just before the Bihar assembly elections, two senior members from the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) have defected to the Congress party.

Congress has Done the Induction and Unveiling of the Two Leaders
Anil Singh, earlier with BJP, and Shambhu Patel, the ex- state general secretary of JD(U), have now officially been inducted into Congress by Bihar state president Rajesh Kumar. The function was held on Wednesday.

Reason and Impact of the Shift
As Rajesh Kumar noted , for Anil Singh, this move represents coming back to his roots. His father, Ram Raj Singh, was a minister during Congress rule and Singh has also been a two-time MP from the now abolished Chandi assembly seat, first as a Congressman and then as a member of the Samata Party which was the old name of JD(U).

Patel, while rationalizing the shift, stated that he was boxed in JD(U) and craved for political space.

CWC Targets To Build Support Ahead of Elections
While welcoming the two leaders, the Congress state chief stressed that the party's position was dominant and tactically placed at a grassroots level before the elections later this year.
