Former U.S. President Donald Trump revealed that he will speak with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday, focusing on efforts to end the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. Trump made the announcement while traveling from Florida to Washington aboard Air Force One on Sunday evening.

“We will see if we have something to announce maybe by Tuesday. I will be speaking to President Putin on Tuesday,” Trump stated. “A lot of work’s been done over the weekend. We want to see if we can bring that war to an end.”

Russia's Control Over Ukrainian Territory

Despite failing to take full control of Ukraine three years after its invasion, Russia continues to occupy significant areas of the country. Discussions about territorial divisions and key infrastructure are expected to be part of Trump’s conversation with Putin.

Topics on the Agenda: Land and Power Plants

Trump emphasized that the discussions will include key geopolitical matters, including land and power infrastructure.

“We will be talking about land. We will be talking about power plants,” he said, referring to ongoing negotiations over territorial control and energy resources. Trump described it as a discussion about “dividing up certain assets.”

Potential Impact on the Ukraine War

While the details of Trump’s plan remain unclear, his willingness to engage directly with Putin suggests an attempt to broker a resolution. Whether this conversation leads to a breakthrough remains to be seen.
