Former U.S. President Donald Trump on Saturday posted a video of a drone strike on Houthi militants in Yemen, stating the Iran-backed group "will never sink our ships again." The footage shows individuals assembled before being targeted by a U.S. military strike.
“These Houthis gathered for instructions on an attack. Oops, there will be no attack by these Houthis! They will never sink our ships again!” Trump wrote in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

Ongoing U.S. Military Operations Against Houthis
The post comes amid escalating U.S. military operations in Yemen, where American forces have conducted repeated airstrikes in response to Houthi attacks on commercial and military vessels in the Red Sea.
The Pentagon announced this week that a second aircraft carrier, the USS Carl Vinson, will join the USS Harry S. Truman in the region. The deployment is aimed at promoting regional stability, deterring aggression, and ensuring the free flow of global commerce.
Houthi Attacks and U.S. Response
Last month, the Houthis claimed responsibility for attacks targeting the USS Harry S. Truman and other U.S. naval assets operating in the Red Sea. In response, the U.S. State Department introduced new sanctions targeting individuals and businesses allegedly involved in financing Houthi operations.
The sanctions list includes financial intermediaries, logistics suppliers, and international firms believed to support the Houthi network, particularly those operating in coordination with Iranian channels.
Iran’s Role Under Continued Scrutiny
While Iran denies supplying weapons to the Houthis, multiple international investigations and weapons seizures have implicated Tehran in arming the group. The Houthis are aligned with Yemen’s Zaidi Shia minority and have received political and logistical support from Iran throughout the ongoing conflict.
