Suspense crime, Digital Desk : Travelers flying with Air India are facing significant disruptions as the airline has cancelled numerous flights across major domestic routes, leaving many passengers stranded and frustrated. The widespread cancellations stem from a perfect storm of technical, environmental, and logistical challenges hitting the airline's operations simultaneously.

At the heart of the issue are "unforeseen maintenance" problems, particularly affecting the carrier's fleet of Airbus A320 family aircraft. According to sources, these planes have been grounded due to a global supply chain crunch that is making it difficult to acquire necessary spare parts. This shortage means aircraft are out of service for longer than anticipated, creating a ripple effect across the flight schedule.

Compounding the maintenance issues are severe weather conditions in several parts of the country, which have made flying unsafe or impossible on certain routes. Adding a third layer of complexity, strict airspace restrictions have been imposed over Delhi in preparation for the upcoming G20 Summit, further limiting the number of flights that can operate in and out of the capital.

The impact has been felt most acutely by passengers traveling between major hubs like Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru. Many took to social media platforms like X (formerly Twitter) to voice their anger over last-minute cancellations, lack of clear communication, and the chaos of trying to rebook their travel.

In response to the growing frustration, an Air India spokesperson acknowledged the disruptions. The airline has stated it is offering affected passengers a full refund or the option to reschedule their flight for a later date at no extra cost. The representative emphasized that these issues are temporary and that the airline is working closely with manufacturing partners to expedite the supply of parts and stabilize its flight schedule as quickly as possible.

Passengers with upcoming travel plans on Air India are advised to check their flight status frequently before heading to the airport.
