Suspense crime, Digital Desk : High intensity encounters in Jammu and Kashmir's Awantipora region resulted in the deaths of three suspected Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorists who were believed to be hiding in the Nadar and Tral regions of Pulwama district. The police and Indian Army forces undertook this operation collaboratively.

India Today shared new drone footage sighting “the fatal shootout” alongside construction projects while showing footage leading up to the climatic battles. They also shared the closing moments prior to the combat alongside video evidence of each suspect gripping their rifles firmly residing cobble basements.

Believed terrorists have been identified as members of Jaish-e-Mohammad. Preliminary investigations reported:
Asif Ahmad Sheikh, son of Ghulam Mohd from Munghama Tral.
Amir Nazir Wani, son of Nazir from Khasipora Tral.
Yawar Ahmad Bhat, son of Nazir Ahmad from Larrow Jagir Tral.

Reported by ADGPI, the local militants belonged to LeT or TRF including locally known commander Shahid Kuttay alongside Adnan Shafi Dar. These horrific deaths were documented within days of a separate encounter, still keeping the quiet region of Tral on high alert as the suspected members of the IDJ continue to roam free.

Context: Operation Sindoor and Ceasefire with Pakistan

High tensions have gripped the region due to the April 22 Pahalgam terrorist attack which took the lives of 26 people. In retaliation, India executed Operation Sindoor which aimed at destroying terrorist bases along the Line of Control. This triggered violence where both India and Pakistan attacked and counterattacked each other.

As a result of this escalation, both nations reached a ceasefire agreement where all military actions by land, air, and sea were suspended after diplomatic communication between DGMO level counterparts.
