If the iron level is low, you may suffer from anemia. In the problem of anemia, red blood cells are not formed, due to which the hemoglobin level decreases, and due to this many diseases can occur. Let us tell you, that hemoglobin is a protein found in red blood cells that transports oxygen from the lungs to all other parts of the body. In such a situation, iron is considered an essential component of hemoglobin. Iron forms red blood cells in the body, which supply oxygen along with blood throughout the body. Anemia can cause fatigue, weakness, and difficulty in breathing. In such a situation, to avoid blood deficiency in the body, consume these iron-rich foods in your diet.

In case of anemia, consume these iron-rich foods:

  • Dates, figs, and raisins: The combination of these dry fruits is amazing in curing anemia. These nuts contain iron, magnesium, copper, and vitamins A and C. Take 2-3 overnight soaked dates, 2 figs, and a teaspoon of raisins as a snack or with your breakfast, which provide instant energy and increase iron in the body.
  • Amla, Beetroot, and Carrot: Beetroot and carrots are rich in iron and amla is rich in vitamin C. Eating these three together makes a great iron-rich recipe as the vitamin C in amla enhances the absorption of iron from the other two. 
  • Coconut: Coconut is rich in iron, so eating coconut as laddu with dates or jaggery or drinking it as coconut water helps fight anemia increase hemoglobin, and even prevent heartburn and constipation.
  • Pomegranate: Pomegranate is rich in vitamin K, vitamin C, fiber, potassium and protein. Pomegranate is rich in vitamin C. The high amount of vitamin C in pomegranate helps in easily absorbing iron present in the body.
  • Green Moong: One cup of green moong provides 80% folate. They are also rich in iron, protein, and fiber. You can consume them by sprouting or boiling them.
  • Roasted Chickpeas and Ragi: Chickpeas contain about 22% iron in 100 grams, which promotes red blood cells in the body and also gives some relief from fatigue and nausea. Ragi is rich in nutrients like iron, calcium, and folate.
