The Netflix Narcos actor Manuel Mazalva is in an “induced coma” and “fighting for life” after battling a bacterial infection.

Masalva, who starred in Narcos: Mexico, has to his is fighting for his life at the moment. He is currently in a coma owing to a severe bacterial infection that he picked up while vacationing.  His close buddy, Mario Morán, shared a video on TikTok sharing the update about the actor, stating, “My brother is fighting for his life far away from home.”

Masalva's friend explained that the reason For his July vacation, Manuel has been battling a very nasty virus. He adds in the video, “This led him to an induced coma. As of today, his situation remains delicate.”

Mario later added that he has had to set up a GoFundMe to cover the medical expenses Masalva faces.

He said, "The medical costs are overwhelming, and in a country where all things are difficult, any assistance - no matter how insignificant - can turn the tide during this trying period.” As I stated before, “If you can help, we offer our entire gratitude.”

Masalva is currently in critical condition, but according to the GoFundMe page, “the bacteria has already been detected.” The post goes on to explain that, “he is currently on antibiotics, so we hope for the best.”

The program organizers thanked donors for helping them surpass thier set objectives which was 1 million Mexican Pesos.

Continued the post, “Thank you very much to all who have contributed; your compassion and help is essential in this trying moment for Manuel and his family. As usual, we want to give special thanks to all such even distant familiar, friends and relatives.”  

“The organizers closed the post with the following words: ‘Together we can do a great deal for Manuel so that he has the strength and support that he needs to recover from his illness.’”  

For those who did not know, Manuel Masalva becamse famous for portraying Ramón Arellano Félix in Netflix’s Narcos: Mexico. The Netflix spinoff series featured Michael Peña, Scoot McNairy, and Diego Luna, who starred in prominent roles.  

The actor is also known for his roles in the Mexican series La Guzmán and Tengo Que Morir Todas Las Noches.
