Jharkhand’s political climate is heating up as Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi has leveled explosive allegations against the Hemant Soren-led government. In a recent scathing social media post, the former Chief Minister questioned the whereabouts of a staggering ₹10,000 crore from the state treasury, claiming that corruption and mismanagement have pushed Jharkhand to the brink of bankruptcy.

Marandi’s attack isn't just about the missing funds; he highlighted the real-world impact this financial strain is having on the state’s essential services, particularly education.

Teachers Without Salaries, Students Without Kits

The most alarming part of Marandi’s claim is the state of Jharkhand’s Education Department. According to him, the department is so broke that it can no longer afford to pay its staff.

Unpaid Teachers: High school teachers in 10 districts reportedly haven't received their salaries for the last six months.

Welfare Schemes Halted: Programs like student scholarships, the Mid-Day Meal scheme, and the distribution of school uniforms and books have been severely hit.

Salary Arrears: About 161 teachers and employees are reportedly owed over ₹6 crore in back-pay.

"If the government can't pay the teachers, then the salaries of the Chief Minister, Chief Secretary, and Education Department officials should also be put on hold," Marandi remarked, demanding immediate accountability.

"A Case of Institutional Loot"

Babulal Marandi didn't hold back on the cause of this crisis. He alleged that the state’s wealth is being drained through "commission-taking" and systemic corruption. He even pointed to a specific instance in the Energy Department where he claims ₹100 crore was "looted."

"The treasury is empty," Marandi stated, adding that while the common man suffers, development projects are being used as a front for siphoning money.

The Political Battle Ahead

As the first Chief Minister of Jharkhand and a seasoned politician, Marandi’s words carry significant weight in the state. By framing the issue around the struggles of teachers and students, he is tapping into a sentiment that resonates with thousands of families across Jharkhand.

So far, the Soren government has yet to provide a detailed rebuttal to these specific financial allegations. But with the opposition sharpening its knives, the "Missing ₹10,000 Crore" is likely to become a major talking point in the upcoming assembly sessions.
