A tragic accident on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway has claimed the lives of at least four people after a roadways bus collided with a tanker and overturned into a deep ditch. The incident, which took place near Lucknow, has left numerous other passengers injured and trapped.
The bus was reportedly traveling at a high speed when it crashed into the back of a tanker. The impact of the collision was so severe that the bus driver lost control, causing the vehicle to break through the roadside barriers and fall into a 50-foot ditch.
Emergency services were rushed to the scene immediately, but the challenging terrain made rescue operations incredibly difficult. Local villagers were the first to arrive, trying to help pull survivors from the wreckage before police and official rescue teams could get there.
"It was chaos," one eyewitness reported. "We could hear people screaming from inside the bus. The ditch is very deep, and it was hard to get down there to help."
Officials have confirmed four deaths so far, but there are fears the number could rise as the rescue work continues. Many passengers are still believed to be trapped inside the overturned bus. The injured are being transported to nearby hospitals for urgent medical care.
The exact cause of the accident is still under investigation. Authorities are looking into all possibilities, including whether the bus driver may have lost control due to over-speeding or some other factor. For now, the focus remains on the ongoing rescue effort and providing support to the victims and their families affected by this devastating crash.
