Suspense crime, Digital Desk :  Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), India's largest IT services giant, believes Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) is not just another tech trend but a "civilisational shift" poised to fundamentally change how businesses and society operate. The company is so confident in GenAI's transformative power that it sees it as a key engine driving its ambition to cross the $30 billion revenue mark in the current financial year (FY25).

CEO K Krithivasan highlighted that TCS is deeply invested in GenAI, moving beyond mere experimentation to actively integrate it into solutions that deliver real value for its global clients. The company is on a massive mission to upskill its entire workforce, aiming to train all 600,000 employees in the fundamentals of GenAI by the end of this year. A significant number are already undergoing advanced training to spearhead these new technological frontiers.

This focus is already bearing fruit. TCS has reportedly delivered over 100 GenAI-powered proof-of-concepts (PoCs) to clients and has a robust pipeline of another 250 projects. This indicates strong client interest and a rapid move towards adopting GenAI for various business applications.

TCS isn't just using off-the-shelf GenAI tools; it has also developed its proprietary "AI WisdomNext" platform. This platform allows TCS to combine various large language models (LLMs) and leverage hyperscaler ecosystems like Microsoft Azure AI and Google Cloud to build custom, industry-specific solutions for its clients.

Krithivasan emphasized that the impact of GenAI will extend far beyond simply improving efficiency. He foresees it creating new business models, unlocking novel revenue streams for clients, and fundamentally altering how work gets done. While the initial focus might be on productivity gains, the long-term vision is about co-creating groundbreaking solutions and driving significant business transformation.

Looking ahead, TCS is not just focused on the immediate FY25 target but sees GenAI as a long-term strategic imperative that will shape its growth trajectory and its clients' success for years to come. The company is positioning itself to be a leader in this GenAI revolution, helping businesses navigate this "civilisational shift" and harness its immense potential.
