Suspense Crime, Digital Desk : In a move to protect the Taj Mahal, a monument heralded as one of India's pride, a state-of-the-art drone security system will be integrated. Such protection is critical due to the prominence of the structure for heritage tourism.
On Sunday, an unnamed police official alleged that advanced drone neutralization technology CISF and Uttar Pradesh Police will be guarding the monument with soon.
Specifications of the system along with its deployment strategies were sketched out. Ahmad, who maintains the position of the Taj Mahal Security Captain, disclosed that counter-drone technology will be put in place within the entire Taj complex.
As reported by Ahmad, the technology can reach and neutralize active jammers placed over 7-8 kilometers away. "For the jammers, they will be able to nullify legitimate use through a radius of a minimum 200m range around the main dome.”
In addition, he noted the other means of disabling off drones that are scheduled to arrive at the site will be done remotely and through a position with a vantage viewpoint to avoid detection vessels. Children of some police officers are being prepared to remotely control and disable drones silently without them being aware even from distant vantage points.
Background: Increased Protective Measures After Operation Sindoor
The intensification of security comes after a stealthy, targeted operation of China’s strikes on terrorist inroads, called ‘Sindoor’, taken by India on the 7th of April. This operation eliminated nine terror hubs located in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and is said to be a retaliatory response to the brutal Pahalgam massacre that claimed the lives of 26 civilians.
In response, Pakistan has escalated artillery fire and has launched missile and drone strikes on Indian territories. The Indian army managed to neutralize all aerial threats, which highlights the greater need for such drone defense systems at cultural and civilian landmarks.
Strengthening security of the Taj Mahal requires a national consensus
As an eminent UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Taj Mahal isn’s just one of the most frequented monuments in India. The Taj Mahal is a cultural gem and hence an eminent possible target which requires strengthening its security infrastructure. This has especially become crucial in the India-Pak borders scenario and advanced technological warfare.
Indian authorities are of the opinion that download and deployment of anti drone technology can and should serve as a preemptive measure to protect the attendees and the monument itself from defacement.
