Suspense crime, Digital Desk : A grieving widow in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, is facing a second agonizing ordeal following her husband's murder, this time at the hands of irresponsible media reporting. Sonam Raghuwanshi, the wife of the recently slain Raja Kumar, has made a desperate public appeal after several local news portals and YouTube channels began circulating a photograph of a completely different woman, falsely identifying her as the victim's wife and linking her to the case.
In a statement to journalists, a distressed Sonam Raghuwanshi clarified the painful mistake. "I am the real wife of Raja Kumar," she stated, explaining that the woman being shown in news reports is an unknown individual. "They are showing some other girl's photo and writing my name. This has caused me immense pain. My husband was murdered, and now my character is being assassinated."
Sonam, a mother of two, expressed how the false reports have compounded her family's tragedy. She is not only mourning the violent death of her husband but is also being forced to defend her own identity and reputation against a wave of misinformation.
Her husband, Raja Kumar, was shot and killed on June 10 in the Karimuddinpur police station area, reportedly over a land dispute. While the police have since made two arrests in connection with the murder, the focus for Sonam has shifted to correcting the damaging and false narrative being spread about her.
She has pleaded with the media to verify their facts and stop using the incorrect photograph. Her appeal is a powerful call for two forms of justice: one for her husband's murder, and another for her own dignity in the face of reckless reporting.
