After months of speculation, Prithviraj Sukumaran has confirmed his role in SSMB29. Speaking to Pinkvilla, the actor initially brushed off his Odisha set visit as a casual trip. However, he later admitted his involvement, citing that leaked images and videos from the set made it difficult to maintain secrecy. He revealed that he has been associated with the film for over a year, actively participating in its gradual development.
Set Footage Goes Viral, Hints at Major Collaboration
Recently, photos and video clips from the SSMB29 set in Odisha’s Koraput district surfaced online, revealing Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and Prithviraj Sukumaran shooting together. These visuals fueled widespread speculation and excitement among fans, confirming the trio’s on-screen collaboration.
Production Details and Budget
The film is being produced by KL Narayana under a colossal budget of ₹1,000 crores, making it one of the costliest Indian films ever made. The script is penned by Vijayendra Prasad, the father of SS Rajamouli, who has previously delivered storylines for major blockbusters like Baahubali and RRR. The music is being composed by Oscar-winner MM Keeravani, further heightening expectations.
Two-Part Release Plan Unveiled
According to the filmmakers, SSMB29 will be released in two parts. The first installment is expected to premiere in 2027, with the second part following in 2029. This multi-part structure indicates a complex narrative, potentially spanning continents and timelines, in keeping with Rajamouli’s signature storytelling approach.
