New Delhi: In a significant turn of events, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially declared the Indian squad for the forthcoming T20I series against Ireland and England. Shreyas Iyer has been named as the new captain of the T20I side.

The inclusion of 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is a major talking point in the selection, with the young talent making it to the team on the back of impressive performances for India U19 and in the IPL. Vaibhav's stellar IPL season, where he amassed 776 runs in 16 innings, has earned him a spot in the senior Indian team.

Notably, Suryakumar Yadav has been omitted from the squad, with the reports of his exclusion proving to be true. Despite leading India to their second consecutive T20 World Cup title, Suryakumar Yadav's recent batting form has been a key factor in his absence from the team.

Hardik Pandya, the star all-rounder, is also absent from the squad, and it remains to be seen if he will participate in the ODI series of the tour.

The squad for the Ireland and England T20Is is as follows:
Shreyas Iyer (Captain)
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi
Abhishek Sharma
Sanju Samson
Ishan Kishan
Shivam Dube
Tilak Verma
Nitish Kumar Reddy
Axar Patel
Washington Sundar
Varun Chakravarthy
Ravi Bishnoi
Mohammed Siraj
Harshit Rana
Arshdeep Singh
Prince Yadav
