Shikhar Dhawan became a fan favorite due to his aggressive batting style and charming character as a cricketer. Now that he has retired from international cricket as well as the IPL, he is active as a Hindi commentator for the T20 tournament and makes appearances at various events.
With the IPL in full swing, Dhawan was able to attend the Times Now Summit 2025, and made headlines for way more than just his take on cricket.
At the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 final held in Dubai, Dhawan was seen with an unidentified woman. His company at the event led to a frenzy on social media and after some investigation, it was revealed that the woman was Sophie Shine, a model from Ireland.
The lively images and videos along with the online speculation has caused fans to question Dhawan’s relationship status after his divorce from Ayesha Mukerji in October 2023.
During his discussions at the Summit, he seemed to reserve certain aspects of his life until someone spoke to him about his ex-girlfriend. He further stated, “Yes, I have moved on. I wouldn’t say I was unlucky in love—rather, my choices came from inexperience. But now I have experience, and that will come in handy. It was a learning curve for me. There were good moments, there were bad moments, and I am grateful for all of them.”
When the discussion shifted to anything less serious, the next natural step was to wonder whether an individual charitable enough to offer a million dollars would ask whether he was indeed interested in falling for someone again, and with his usual smile he remarked, “I am always in love!"
While many would love to believe that, Dhawan further went on to confuse everybody by moving in the opposite direction; “Look, I know how to dodge bouncers in cricket and I know you’re throwing one at me now, but I won’t get caught!” And just like that laughter was all Dhawan decided to reveal from which many were left wishing he would reveal his partner, if he ever had one decipherable to his tricks.
When nudged with the Punjabi phrase, “Changi kudi hai?” (Is she a good girl?), Dhawan cryptically replied, “For the wise, a hint is enough.”
The player is known to be bold, and even during numerous attempts to get a name out of him, the cricketer remained tight-lipped, playfully stating, “The most beautiful girl in this room is my girlfriend. Now, you solve it”
And for the remarkable question – is there a wedding coming up? The answer Dhawan gave was not over the top, “When it pleases me like everything else does. What's the hurry?” pitched Dhawan assured us there is no wedding date set.
Now, with Dhawan relishing life on and off the field, it’s a given that his special someone, remains an undisclosed persona for the fans.
