Earlier Issue Triggers Renewed Investigation

This shocking discovery came from a case registered as missing people filed back on pilers. The computer science branch students of the third year Prakriti Lamsal was reported missing from her housing facility along side the branch, where last seen on Feb 16.Both of these students attended the same institution, which raised suspicions. As for Lamsal, it was enhanced scrutiny given to her after the desperate calls she made to the international relations office concerning a so-called ‘partner’ harassing her on the premise of her shawl for a scream strip.

Not surprisingly, people of their country heavily protested against the KIIT supervision complaining against the system after deeming her dead.

The National Human Rights Commission of India issued criticism to the university for not taking action and considered it gross negligence. The perpetrator in Lamsal’s case was apprehended shortly after the death of the victim.

Tightened Security Measures and Global Outrage

Following the developments, there is heightened security at the university. The repeated incidents have heightened the concern about the international student welfare, especially those hailing from Nepal. The Nepalese Embassy has been notified, and the government of Odisha has promised to conduct a detailed inquiry.

The events have increased the focus on how foreign students’ complaints of harassment, and mental health issues are managed by the institutions.
