With UPI frauds on the rise across India, Samsung has released a set of digital payment safety tips for its Wallet users. These tips are part of a wider awareness effort in collaboration with the Indian government's UPI Chalega initiative, aiming to promote secure digital transactions and protect users from fraud.

The safety advice was shared in a video posted by the UPI Chalega YouTube channel, emphasizing best practices to minimize the risk of scams during UPI transactions.

1. Verify Recipient Details Before Making a Payment

One of the core recommendations is to always verify the UPI ID and name of the recipient before sending any funds. This helps ensure that money is transferred to the correct account and prevents accidental or fraudulent transfers.

2. Know When to Use the UPI PIN

Samsung clarifies that the UPI PIN is only needed for sending money, not for receiving it. Users should never share their UPI PIN with anyone, as doing so can lead to unauthorized access and financial theft.

3. Monitor Your Transaction Notifications

Users are advised to check debit SMS alerts immediately after every UPI transaction. This helps detect any suspicious or unauthorized activity. In case of an unexpected debit, users should contact their bank immediately to report the incident.

4. Use Official Complaint Channels

Samsung also highlights the importance of using official complaint mechanisms within UPI apps for reporting issues. This ensures that complaints are handled securely and efficiently by authorized personnel.
