Team India won the T20 World Cup title on 29 June 2024. Captain Rohit Sharma’s role was very important in this historic victory. Rohit Sharma scored the most runs for India in the entire World Cup. Rohit Sharma has now given the credit for India’s World Cup victory to three legends. Star batsman Rohit Sharma said on Wednesday that former head coach Rahul Dravid, selection committee chairman Ajit Agarkar, and BCCI secretary Jay Shah fully supported him in his effort to get the best performance from the players without worrying about the results, as a result of which India won the T20 World Cup under his leadership.

Rohit Sharma brought changes to the team

India won the World Cup title and defeated South Africa in the final. This was their second T20 World Cup title after 2007 and Rohit retired from all T20 Internationals with that victory in Barbados. After being named the Best International Cricketer of the Year at the CEAT Cricket Rating Awards, Rohit said that it was my dream to change this team and not worry too much about statistics and results so that we can ensure that we create an environment where people can play freely without thinking too much. That is what was needed.

Rohit thanked the whole country

Rohit further said that I got a lot of help from my three pillars, which are Jay Shah, Rahul Dravid, and the chairman of the selection committee Ajit Agarkar. It was very important for me to do what I did and of course not to forget the players who came in at different times and helped the team achieve what we achieved. Rohit said that the feeling of winning the World Cup which ended India’s decade-long drought in world tournaments cannot be described in words. It was a feeling that could not come every day. It was something we were looking forward to. When we won the World Cup, it was important for all of us to enjoy the moment, which we did very well, and also thank our country for celebrating with us.
