Yes, Quick Drop Solution has been started at the airport under Self Service Baggage Drop (SSBD). Under this service, you will be able to check your luggage in just 30 seconds. Toronto is the first airport in the world and IGI is the second airport to start this facility. Information about this was given by Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL).

50 SSBD machines installed

According to the information given by the airport management, 50 SSBD machines have been installed at Terminal 1 and 3. Not only this, passengers will be able to tag their luggage themselves as well as print their boarding passes. Earlier at Delhi airport, passengers had to print their boarding passes and luggage tags on a machine. After this, they themselves used to go to the baggage drop area (SSBD), where they had to get their passes scanned or face scanning done before keeping the luggage.

Now the whole process will be completed in a few seconds
. The whole process used to take more than a minute. But now this work can be done in a few seconds. Let us tell you that Delhi Airport had announced the installation of SSBD machines in June 2023. After this things have become easier than before and passengers just need to take the luggage tag. This will be the same tag which was available earlier. After taking it, the luggage has to be placed directly on the SSBD machine. An airport official said that after the SSBD machine, now it is only a one-step job.

Boarding pass or face scanning will have to be done.
On reaching SSBD, passengers will have to show their boarding pass or have their face scanned. After this, they will have to proceed further. The time taken earlier from more than a minute has now come down to just 30 seconds. Currently, SSBD machines are available only on three airlines Air India, Indigo and Air India Express. DIAL CEO Videh Kumar Jaipuriar said that with this initiative, the experience of passengers will be better than before. With its introduction, now passengers will take less time in the process of boarding a flight.
