Bollywood actress Rani Mukerji is set to reprise her role as a fierce police officer in her super-hit franchise Mardaani 3.

Mukerji will reportedly commence the shoot for Mardaani 3, which was greenlit in 2024, sometime in June this year as per information from Mid Day.

For now, the making of the film is at the pre-production stage, which means there is a considerable amount of work to be done, including fixing vital Character look tests, one of which is the principal antagonist who hasn’t been locked yet.

The Yash Raj Films development team has been reported to still be fine-tuning its screenplay as they ready extra bits of the pre-production.

The added information notes that the production has made chairmen listing for the beginning batch of shooting locations and expanded from multinational films Delhi and Mumbai.

Those other unidentified regions are to be expected from northern India.

Rani Mukerji had publicized the third installment of her hit film in 2024. During that time, she said, “While embarking on making Mardaani 3, my expectation was that we would be able to find a perfect script that can heighten the experience of watching a Mardaani franchise film. I am really excited about what we have at hand and I am just hoping that the audience feels the same when they watch Mardaani 3 in the theatres.”

Mardaani 3 will be directed by debutante YRF’s talent Abhiraj Minawala, who was brought in by Aditya Chopra. He has worked as an AD on films like Band Baaja Baarat, Gunday, Sultan, Jab Tak Hai Jaan, and Tiger 3. Abhiraj currently is the Associate Director of ‘War 2.’
