Spiritual leader and Tulsi Peethadheeshwar Jagadguru Rambhadracharya voiced strong opinions on the ongoing protests against the Waqf Amendment Act. Speaking in Vrindavan during a public event, he responded to a journalist’s query by calling the protesters “fools,” criticizing their stance despite the Act being officially passed and ratified.

Approval of Waqf Amendment Act and Rising Dissent

The Waqf Amendment Act, passed by both houses of Parliament and approved by President Droupadi Murmu, has now become law. Despite this, several Muslim organizations across India, including in Kolkata, continue to protest. Rambhadracharya’s remark came as a sharp counter to the ongoing criticism.

Strong Words on Yamuna Pollution

Switching focus to environmental concerns, Rambhadracharya also criticized the previous Delhi administration for its inaction on Yamuna river pollution. Expressing concern, he said, “I am saddened by the lack of cleaning of Yamuna in Delhi. I will forcefully urge the leadership to begin the clean-up process without delay. It cannot be postponed any further.”

Violence Escalates in Murshidabad Over Waqf Law

Following the enactment of the Waqf Amendment Act, tensions have surged in West Bengal, particularly Murshidabad, where violent protests erupted today. Reports confirm two deaths and over 100 arrests after incidents of arson and rioting. Opposition parties continue to criticize the law, and several legal petitions challenging it will be heard in the Supreme Court on April 16.
