Suspense crime, Digital Desk : Senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Rajiv Krishna has been appointed as the new Director General of Police (DGP) for Uttar Pradesh, India's most populous state. Krishna, a 1991 batch officer, will now spearhead the state's extensive police force.
He steps into this crucial role succeeding Prashant Kumar, who was recently promoted to the DGP rank from his previous position as Director General (Law and Order) and held the top post.
Prior to this significant appointment, Rajiv Krishna served as the Additional Director General (ADG) for the Lucknow Zone. He is widely recognized within administrative and police circles for his integrity, strict adherence to discipline, and a reputation as a no-nonsense officer committed to upholding the law.
This leadership change is viewed as a key development for law enforcement in Uttar Pradesh. There are considerable expectations that Krishna's tenure will further bolster the law and order situation across the state, which presents unique and complex policing challenges.
