Rajeev Chandrasekhar is poised to become the next state president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Kerala. According to PTI, he is the sole nominee for the post. The formal announcement is expected to follow the BJP's state council meeting on Monday, with BJP central observer Prahlad Joshi likely to make the declaration.
On Sunday, Chandrasekhar submitted two sets of nomination papers at the party headquarters in the state capital. The nomination process was attended by outgoing president K Surendran and other senior leaders, including Kummanam Rajasekharan, V Muraleedharan, PK Krishnadas, MT Ramesh, and Union Ministers Suresh Gopi and George Kurian.
