World's Tallest Maharana Pratap Statue to Rise in Haldighati

Post

In an ambitious move to honor Mewar’s martial legacy and position southern Rajasthan as an international heritage tourism destination, the Rajasthan government has initiated a monumental project to erect the world’s largest statue of legendary warrior king Maharana Pratap at the historic battlegrounds of Haldighati. State-owned Navratna infrastructure enterprise NBCC (India) Limited has been formally commissioned to develop the expansive Maharana Pratap Tourist Circuit at an approved capital outlay of ₹168.39 crore (excluding GST). Designed to safeguard regional cultural pride while upgrading visitor infrastructure across Rajsamand district, the project integrates monumental sculpture art, high-tech historical storytelling, and comprehensive civic tourism amenities.

Tripartite Agreement Signed: NBCC Takes Charge of End-to-End Planning, Design, and Maintenance

The mega heritage project was formalized through a comprehensive Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) executed between NBCC Limited, the Department of Tourism (Government of Rajasthan), and the Rajasthan Heritage Authority. Under the terms of this tripartite pact, NBCC will serve as the master project implementation agency responsible for architectural planning, structural design, civil execution, as well as ongoing operation and maintenance of the entire circuit. The state administration has sanctioned the project cost at ₹168.39 crore, which includes a project management consultancy (PMC) fee of 4.25 percent calculated on the actual executed cost, ensuring strict institutional oversight, world-class engineering standards, and time-bound delivery across the designated memorial zones.

Iconic Chetak Depiction and State-of-the-Art Museum: Preserving the Glory of Mewar

The crowning centerpiece of this cultural corridor will be the towering effigy of Maharana Pratap, envisioned to stand as the tallest memorial statue ever constructed of the venerated Rajput ruler. Adding historical depth to the colossal monument, the circuit layout features a world-class experiential museum dedicated to immortalizing the valor of Maharana Pratap alongside his legendary loyal warhorse, Chetak. Curated with advanced conservation methods and historical artifacts, the museum will highlight Pratap’s guerrilla warfare strategies, unyielding resistance against imperial subjugation, and the profound geographical and military ethos of the Aravalli hill ranges during the 16th century.

Immersive 3D Topographical Projection Show to Recreate the Historic Battle of Haldighati

Beyond static monuments, the development plan integrates cutting-edge audiovisual technology to transform the Haldighati Memorial into an interactive learning hub. A high-definition topographical projection mapping show will be permanently installed to visually recreate the historic 1576 Battle of Haldighati across natural terrain contours. By utilizing spatial acoustic design, dynamic lighting, and immersive 3D visual narratives, the projection spectacle aims to transport domestic and international travelers straight into the epic clash between Maharana Pratap's Rajput-Bhil forces and Mughal armies, providing an unforgettable cinematic encounter with India’s living martial heritage.
