Rajasthan Kanwar Yatra Guidelines: Weapons, Tridents, and Hockey Sticks Banned; Original IDs Mandatory
In preparation for the upcoming Kanwar Yatra, the Rajasthan Police has enforced a strict set of regulations aimed at ensuring public safety, law and order, and communal harmony across the state. Under the newly released guidelines, pilgrims and devotees are strictly prohibited from carrying weapons, tridents (trishuls), hockey sticks, batons, or any sharp objects during the procession. Additionally, authorities have made it compulsory for all Kanwariyas to carry valid original identification documents, such as voter IDs or government-issued identity cards, throughout their pilgrimage.
Strict Route Compliance and Noise Restrictions
To maintain smooth traffic flow and prevent public inconvenience, the state administration has mandated that all pilgrims strictly adhere to designated traditional Kavad routes. The fresh guidelines also impose a complete ban on the consumption of intoxicants, the playing of music systems or DJ equipment beyond permissible decibel limits, and cooking food directly on public streets or thoroughfares. District police chiefs have been directed to monitor compliance closely and ensure that traditional routes remain uninterrupted.
Police Vigilance and Focus on Social Harmony
ADG (Law and Order) V.K. Singh has instructed all district superintendents of police to maintain high vigilance, robust coordination, and proactive management throughout the duration of the Yatra. According to the police headquarters directive, law enforcement personnel will intervene swiftly in the event of any local disputes. Maintaining social harmony, preventing friction, and ensuring a peaceful pilgrimage for all citizens remain the top priorities for the state administration this season.
