The Congress party in Jaipur has accelerated its preparations for the upcoming municipal corporation elections, receiving over 1,350 applications from aspirants seeking councillor tickets. Jaipur City Congress District President Sunil Sharma announced that the candidate selection process is being streamlined through professional surveys, individual interactions with workers, and state-level coordinator reviews.
Shortlisting Mayoral Contenders and Mission 100
As part of its election strategy, the party officially launched the "Mission 100" campaign, targeting a victory across 100 seats in the civic body. To streamline leadership, the party has shortlisted four to five potential names for the mayoral position, while clarifying that sitting MLAs and former ministers are also eligible to contest if they wish.
Internal Discipline and Ward-Wise Manifestos
To maintain party unity and keep a check on dissenting voices, the Congress has formed specialized committees:
Political Affairs Committee: Handled by Rafiq Khan.
Discipline Committee: Managed by Amin Kagzi.
Steering Committee: Headed by Pratap Singh Khachariyawas.
Additionally, the party plans to roll out a ward-wise manifesto supervised by former RPSC Chairman BL Sharma, focusing heavily on local development, civic issues, and the preservation of Jaipur's cultural heritage. Party officials indicated that final candidate names are expected to be locked down following comprehensive evaluations.
