Baby selling ring with links to four states; Kalia will be produced in Gujarat

New Delhi:In the case of purchasing and selling of newly born babies in the guise of a private hospital in Delhi, the kingpin of the selling gang will now be brought to Gujarat and Rajasthan for investigation. This has been revealed during police investigation where the kingpin Kalia and his gang members were found to be operating the baby selling ring in the capital, as well as Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Haryana.
The Special Staff team has so far arrested 13 people involved in the racket including the lady doctor running the hospital in the capital.
We are interrogating these accused to know about the other members of the gang; more arrests were possible soon. Delhi Police is now tracing those poor people from where this gang purchased the new born babies. Fake papers of the babies were arranged Sources said that investigation in the case has so far revealed that this gang purchased new born babies from poor families in Rajasthan and Gujarat and in turn gave them the babies in Delhi with help of an agency which managed to get arranged fake documents on them. Police further said, usually the kids purchased by this racket were between five days to five months old.
They arranged fake papers of the kids from a hospital at Begumpur.
They had the customers for these kids ready in advance in both States, from whom they charged between 5 lakh to 10 lakh to give them one new born child. It has been learnt from sources, the racketeers of this gang sold about 30 babies in last one-and-half-years. Police have produced in the court, the 5 recovered kids from the grip of this racket and they are currently in a shelter home.
Some crucial evidences were collected in the hospital During investigations by Delhi police on Friday the team visited Dr Viveki's Hira Multispecialty hospital located at Begumpur, where they collected a hefty amount of document and other important clues. Delhi police is further investigating through hospital records to verify that how many children were shown to be born in Dr Viveki's clinic over last few years through which official records the birth certificates of children were arranged by Kalia. In preliminary enquiry it was established that Dr.
Vivek's clinic was very instrumental in this baby smuggling trade, where a major part of the official documentation of the children purchased from several poor parents were fraudulently documented with official birth certificates and the new parents of the babies too are arranged by the gang to whom the children were sold by the buying and selling gang.
By this fraud the selling and buying of new-born children, the officials had to confirm the children as being the actual children of the adopting family.
