Suspense crime, Digital Desk : Pakistan has postponed the resumption of operations at Rahim Yar Khan airbase's runway until June 6. This is in line with the damages incurred due to the Indian airstrikes on May 10.

PCAA had issued NOTAM on May 10, indicating that the runway would be inactive until 4:59AM of May 18. Now, Pakistan has decided to alter this NOTAM and push the deadline to June 6, meaning the new offer restricts movement over the controlled airspace until the later deadline.

As claimed, there appears to be work still ongoing on the ground which justifies the absence of movement control need there to be intermediate limits serving the purpose of worksite enabling the new restriction to be operated on without changing notice suggested in the new NOTAM.

According to experts from the Indian Express, the claim injury caused because of precision strikes is plausible, in light of the ongoing military confrontation. Indian authoritative bodies has opened access to satellite photos that strongly support such a Presidential claim by showing crater claimed while construction was active on the base runway and frame fracture on one of the outpost building.

Significance of Rahim Yar Khan Aerodrome

Rahim Yar Khan is an airbase located in the southern region of Punjab. It is also used for commercial purposes under the name Sheikh Zayed International Airport, alongside serving as a Pakistan Air Force forward operating base under the Central Air Command.

On May 10th Indian strategists tried simultaneously striking this airbase along with 5 others. These include Sikur, Rafiki, Murid, Chaklala and Juniya. The goal was to take out air force installations with preemptive striked, which India justified as a response to “escalatory and provocative” airspace incursions initiated by Pakistan, all of which, were intercepted.

Damage Assessment and NOTAM Terminology

“WIP” is an international term used for not getting in a NOTAM. The expression that defines airspace restrictions refers to the executing surface repairs. Both of the bodies of ‘International Civil Aviation Organizations’ and “Air Traffic Control” of United States works under the same definition of the ‘Federal Aviation Administration’(FAA) eto NOTAM maps, therefore leads to the basis of airbase withholds access to its runway relevant operations.
