Suspense crime, Digital Desk : In compliance with the directives of the Union Home Ministry, Punjab has made the final arrangements to perform civil defence mock drills on twenty important points across the region on May 7, Wednesday. These drills are meant to be a part of the national response strategy that aims to deal with ‘new and complex challenges’ after the Pahalgam terror attack on India which intensified the clashes with Pakistan.

Participating Districts of the Diab

Ferozepur, Ludhiana, Amritsar, Bathinda,
Gurdaspur, Hoshairpur, Jalandhar,
Mohali, Patiala, Pathankot,
Frenna, Mboazura, Barnala

Punjab’s Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema has listed the districts which will be participating in the drills. He further added that the necessary arrangements have been completed and the procedures will be carried out in accordance with the guidelines established by the Home Affairs Ministry. The Primary aim is to promote public information and educate them on what steps to take and how to react during attacks.

Siren and blackout exercises commence

Between 7 PM and 7.15 PM on Tuesday on Ferozepur’s and the surrounding areas, Ferozepur has been stepped up with six air raid sirens. Deputy Commissioner of Ferozepur Mrs. Deepshikha Sharma has calmed the residents claim that there is no need to panic because these sirens, as part of the step that the area is undertaking, are meant to be readiness checks.

In Ferozepur, siren participants will be patroling on the 8th of October from 9 to 9:30 collectively implementing the exercise.

Haryana Also Joins Nationwide Drill

Furthermore, mock drills are scheduled to take place in cities such as Ambala, Faridabad, Gurugram, Hisar, Panchkula, Panipat, and Rohtak, as well as throughout the state of Haryana

Important Actions Taken in the Above Drill Are Also:

Activation of air raid warning sirens

Execution of blackout drills and evacuation drills

Bunker and trench cleaning

Preparation of sensitive infrastructure early cover

Scrolling incognito engaging communication links with Indian Air Force

Testing main and standby control rooms

Expected Participants during the Drill

The drill will comprise of:

Regional administrative authorities coordinated with civil defences units

Police, fire and other emergency personnel

Civilians, Home Guards, NCC, NSS, NYKS, and other Youth Services

Students and pupils of secondary and higher education

This is part of a synchronized effort undertaken at both the state and national levels indicates that there is a growing determination within the nation to strengthen civil defense and neutralization measures against the risk of infringement into India’s territorial integrity.
