Full Speech of PM Modi: Read below the full part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address from the ramparts of the Red Fort on the occasion of 78th Independence Day.
Long live Mother India.
Long live Mother India.
Long live Mother India.
My dear countrymen, my family members!
Today is that auspicious moment when we pay our respects to the countless freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for the country, dedicated their lives for the freedom of the country, struggled throughout their lives, climbed the gallows, and shouted slogans of Bharat Mata Ki Jai. It is a festival to remember their virtues. The freedom fighters have given us the good fortune of breathing the air of freedom on this festival of independence. This country is indebted to them. We express our reverence towards every such great man.
my dear countrymen
Today, the great men who are protecting the country with full dedication and commitment to the nation’s defense and nation-building are also trying to take the country to new heights. Be it our farmers, our soldiers, the courage of our youth, the contribution of our mothers and sisters, the Dalits, the oppressed, the exploited, the deprived, their devotion towards freedom, and their faith in democracy, is an inspiring event for the entire world. Today, I salute all such people with respect.
Dear countrymen,
This year and for the past few years, our worries have been increasing due to natural disasters. Many people have lost their family members and property in natural disasters, the nation has also suffered losses repeatedly. Today, I express my condolences to all of them and I assure them that the country stands with them in this hour of crisis.
My dear countrymen!
Let us recall those days before independence. Every period of hundreds of years of slavery was a period of struggle. Be it the youth, the elderly, farmers, women, tribals, they kept fighting against slavery, kept fighting a continuous war. History is a witness that even before the freedom struggle of 1857 which we remember, there were many tribal areas in our country where the war of independence was fought.
Friends,
Such a long period of slavery, cruel rulers, unending torture, and every trick to break the faith of even the most ordinary people, despite all this, according to the population of that time, about 40 crore countrymen, before independence, showed that passion, showed that strength, walked with a dream, walked with a resolve, kept fighting; there was only one voice Vande Mataram, there was only one dream of India’s independence. 40 crore countrymen and we are proud that their blood flows in our veins. They were our ancestors, only 40 crore. 40 crore people had uprooted and thrown away the world’s superpower, breaking the chains of slavery. If our ancestors, whose blood flows in our veins, today we are 140 crore. If 40 crore people can break the shackles of slavery if 40 crore people can fulfill their dream of freedom, can live with freedom, then if 140 crore citizens of my country, 140 crore family members of mine take resolve and start walking with a determined direction, if they walk step by step, shoulder to shoulder, then no matter how many challenges there are, no matter how severe the scarcity, even if we have to struggle for resources, we can overcome every challenge and make a prosperous India. We can achieve the target of a developed India by 2047. If 40 crore countrymen can give freedom, and make an independent India with their efforts, their dedication, their sacrifice, and their self-denial, then 140 crore countrymen can also make a prosperous India with the same spirit.
Friends,
There was a time when people were committed to dying for the country and getting freedom. Today is the time to commit to live for the country. If the commitment to die for the country can bring freedom, then the commitment to live for the country can also make India prosperous.
Friends,
Developed India 2047, these are not just words in a speech, hard work is going on behind it. Suggestions are being taken from crores of people in the country and we have asked for suggestions from the countrymen. And I am happy that crores of citizens of my country have given countless suggestions for Developed India 2047. The dream of every countryman is reflected in it. The resolve of every countryman is reflected in it. Be it the youth, the elderly, the people of the village, the farmers, the Dalits, the tribals, the people living in the mountains, the people living in the forests, or the people living in the cities, everyone has given valuable suggestions for a developed India by 2047 when the country will celebrate 100 years of independence.
And when I saw these suggestions, I was very happy to see what they wrote. Some people suggested making India the skill capital of the world. For a developed India by 2047, some people suggested making India a global manufacturing hub. Some people suggested that our universities should become global. Some people also said that after so many years of independence, shouldn’t our media be global? Some people also say that our skilled youth should become the first choice of the world. Some people suggested that India should become self-reliant in every field of life as soon as possible.
Many people suggested that the coarse grain produced by our farmers, which we call Shrianna, superfood should be made available to every dining table in the world. We have to give strength to the nutrition of the world and also strengthen the small farmers of India. Many people suggested that there is a great need for governance reforms in many units in the country, from local self-governance institutions to others. Many people wrote that they expressed concern about the delay in justice and also said that there is a great need for reforms in the justice system in our country. Many people wrote that the need of the hour is to build many greenfield cities. Someone suggested running a campaign for capacity building in the administration amid increasing natural disasters.
Many people have also dreamt that India’s space station should be built as soon as possible. Someone said that India’s traditional medicine is our medicine, when the world is moving towards holistic healthcare, then we should develop India as a hub of traditional medicines and wellness. Some say that there should be no delay now, India should become the third-largest economy in the world as soon as possible.
Friends,
I was reading because these suggestions have been given by my countrymen. These suggestions have been given to us by the common citizens of my country. I believe that when the countrymen have such vast thinking, such big dreams when the resolve of the countrymen is reflected in these words, then a new resolve is strengthened within us. Self-confidence reaches new heights in our minds and this confidence of fellow countrymen is not just an intellectual debate, this confidence has emerged from experience. This confidence is the result of hard work over a long period and that is why the common man of the country remembers when it is said from the Red Fort that electricity will be provided to 18 thousand villages in India within the time limit and that work is done, then the confidence gets strengthened. When it is decided that even after so many years of independence, there are 2.5 crore families where there is no electricity, they live in darkness, electricity is provided to 2.5 crore houses. Then the confidence of the common man increases. When we talk of a clean India, only then should people sitting in the front rows of houses in the country, people in villages, people living in poor settlements, and small children, an environment of cleanliness should be created in every family, and there should be discussions on cleanliness, there should be a constant effort to stop each other about cleanliness, I believe that this is a reflection of the new consciousness that has come in India.
When it is said from the Red Fort in front of the country that today there are three crore families in our families who get tap water in their homes. These families must get pure drinking water. Under the Jal Jeevan Mission, in such a short time, 12 crore new families are getting tap water. Today 15 crore families have become its beneficiaries. Who was deprived of these arrangements? Who was left behind? The people on the front line of the society did not live in poverty for this. My Dalits, my oppressed, my exploited, my tribal brothers and sisters, my poor brothers and sisters, my people living in slums, they were the ones living in the lack of these things. The efforts we made to fulfill many such basic needs and the result of that have been received by all these brothers of our society.
We gave the mantra of Vocal for Local. Today I am happy that Vocal for Local has become a new mantra for the economy. Every district has started feeling proud of its produce. An environment of One District One Product has been created. Now every district has started thinking about how to export one product of one district. We had pledged renewable energy. India has done more than what the countries of the G-20 group have done. And we have worked to make India self-reliant in the field of energy and to get rid of the worries of global warming.
Friends,
The country feels proud today when the whole world wants to learn and understand something from India regarding the successes of fintech. Then our pride increases even more.
Friends,
How can we forget that time of crisis during Corona? The vaccination of crores of people at the fastest pace in the world was done in our country. When the army of the country does a surgical strike, when the army of the country does an air strike, then the youth of that country feel proud, swell with pride. And these are the reasons why today the hearts of 140 crore countrymen are filled with pride and self-confidence.
Friends,
A well-thought-out effort has been made for all these things. The tradition of reform has been strengthened. With the help of new methods and when the political leadership has the resolve, and strong belief, when the government machinery is dedicated to implementing it, and when every citizen of the country comes forward to make public participation and create a mass movement to fulfill that dream, then we keep getting definite results.
My dear countrymen,
We should not forget that this country has spent decades after independence in such circumstances. When things happen, they go on, it will be alright, why do we need to work hard, it is a matter, the next generation will see it, we have got a chance, enjoy it. The future knows what we have to do, we will take our time. If you try to do something new, there will be a ruckus. I don’t know why a status quo atmosphere had developed in the country. It was an atmosphere of making do with what you have. And people would say, leave it, nothing is going to happen now. Let’s go, that was what I had decided.
We had to break this mindset, we had to fill them with confidence and we tried in that direction. Many people used to say why should we work for the next generation right now, we should look after today. But the common man of the country did not want this, he was waiting for change, he wanted change, he had a passion. But no one paid attention to his dreams, his hopes, aspirations, and expectations were not given importance. And because of that, he kept living while facing problems. He kept waiting for reforms. We were given the responsibility and we brought big reforms on the ground.
Be it the poor, the middle class, our deprived people, our growing urban population, the dreams, resolve, and aspirations of our youth, we have chosen the path of reforms to bring about a change in their lives. And I want to assure the countrymen that our commitment towards reforms is not limited to editorials in the pink paper. This commitment to reforms is not for four days of applause. Our process of reforms is not out of compulsion, it is to strengthen the country. And that is why I can say today that our path of reforms has become a blueprint for growth in a way. These reforms, this growth, and this change are not just a topic of discussion for debate clubs, intellectual society, and experts.
Friends,
We have not done this due to political compulsion. Whatever we are doing, we do not think about it by dividing and multiplying it with politics, we have only one resolve – Nation First, Nation First, national interest is supreme. We take steps with the resolve to make my India great.
Friends,
When it comes to reforms, there is a long background, if I go into its discussion, it will take hours. But I want to give a small example. The reform that happened in the banking sector. Just think – what was the condition of the banking sector, there was no development, no expansion, and no increase in trust. Not only this but due to the kind of activities that were going on, our banks were going through crises. We did many reforms to strengthen the banking sector. And today due to that, our banks have made their place among the few strong banks in the world. And when banks are strong, the strength of the formal economy also increases. When the banking system is established, when the requirements of the common poor, especially the middle-class family, the banking sector has the biggest power to fulfill them. If he needs a home loan, he needs a vehicle loan, my farmer needs a loan for a tractor, my youth needs a loan for start-ups, my youth needs a loan for studying, for education, and someone needs a loan to go abroad. All these things are possible because of him.
I am happy that my animal breeders and my fish farming brothers and sisters are also taking advantage of the banks today. I am happy that lakhs of my street vendors are achieving new heights by joining the bank and are becoming partners in the direction of development. Banks are the biggest helpers for our MSMEs and small industries. They need money every day, for their daily progress and that work has become possible today due to our strong banks.
Friends,
Unfortunately, our country gained independence, but people had to go through a kind of Mai-Baap culture. Keep asking the government, keep extending hands in front of the government, keep looking for ways to get someone’s recommendation, that very culture had developed. Today we have changed that model of governance. Today the government itself goes to the beneficiary, today the government itself delivers a gas stove to his house, today the government itself delivers water to his house, today the government itself delivers electricity to his house, today the government itself inspires and encourages him to set new dimensions of development by giving him financial help, today the government itself is taking many steps for the skill development of the youth.
Friends, our government is very committed to major reforms and through this, we want to choose the path of progress in the country.
Friends, new systems are being made in the country. To take the country forward, many financial policies have to be made continuously and the country’s trust in the new system also keeps increasing. The youth of 20-25 years of age today, who was a youth of 12-15 years of age 10 years ago, has seen this change before his eyes. Within 10 years, his dreams have got a shape, a sharpness, and a new consciousness has awakened in his self-confidence and that is emerging as a new strength of the country. Today, India’s credibility has increased in the whole world, and the perspective towards India has changed.
Today the doors of possibilities have opened for the youth in the world. Countless new employment opportunities, which had not come even after so many years of independence, are knocking at their doors today. Possibilities have increased. New opportunities are being created. The youth of my country no longer intend to move slowly. The youth of my country do not believe in incremental progress. The youth of my country is in the mood to take leaps. They are in the mood to achieve new achievements by taking leaps. I would like to say that this is a Golden Era for India. Even if we see it in comparison to the global conditions, this is a Golden Era, this is our golden period.
My dear countrymen, we must not let this opportunity go, we must not let this opportunity go and if we grab this opportunity and move ahead with our dreams and resolutions, we will fulfill the country’s expectations of a golden India and our goal of a developed India by 2047. We have come out breaking the shackles of centuries.
Today, be it the tourism sector, MSME sector, education, health sector, transport sector, agriculture, and farming sector, a new modern system is being created in every sector. We want to move ahead according to the conditions of our country while keeping the best practices of the world at the forefront. Every sector needs modernity and newness. There is a need to integrate technology. And due to our new policies in every sector, all these sectors are getting new support and new strength. All our obstacles should be removed, our recession should be removed, and we should move forward with full strength, blossom, achieve our dreams, and see success near us, we should internalize it, we have to move in that direction. Now you see, how big a change is coming.
I am talking about the grassroots level, women’s self-help groups, today in ten years, 10 crores of our sisters have joined women’s self-help groups, and 10 crore new sisters. We are proud that our 10 crore women from ordinary families in villages are becoming financially self-reliant and when women become financially self-reliant, they become a part of the decision-making process of the family, which guarantees a very big social change.
I am proud of this, but at the same time, I am also proud of the fact that our CEOs are making their presence felt in the world today. Our CEOs of India are making their presence felt in the world. It is a matter of happiness for us that on the one hand, my CEOs are earning names in the world, making India famous, and on the other hand, one crore of my mothers and sisters from ordinary families are becoming lakhpatis through women self-help groups, this is also a matter of equal pride for me. Now we have decided to give Rs 10 lakh to Rs 20 lakh to self-help groups. So far, these women’s self-help groups have received Rs 9 lakh crore through banks, and with the help of which they are expanding their various works.
My comrades,
My youth should pay attention to this, the space sector is a future linked to us, and it is an important aspect, and we are also emphasizing on it. We have done a lot of reforms in the space sector. We have freed the shackles that had kept the space sector tied. Today hundreds of startups are coming in the space sector. Our space sector becoming vibrant is an important part of making India a powerful nation. And we are strengthening it with a long-term vision. Today private satellites and private rockets are being launched, this is a matter of pride. Today I can say that when the policy is right, the intention is right and the welfare of the nation with complete dedication is the mantra, then we achieve results.
My dear countrymen,
Today, if new opportunities are created in the country, then I can say that two more things have given momentum to development, given a new leap and these are – first is the construction of modern infrastructure. We have taken very big steps towards modernizing the infrastructure. On the other hand, we have given equal emphasis on the obstacles in the life of a common man and our dream of ease of living.
There has been unprecedented development of infrastructure in the last decade. Be it railways, roads, airports, ports, broadband connectivity, talks of building new schools in every village, talks of building schools in forests, talks of building hospitals in far-flung areas, talks of building Arogya Mandirs, work of medical colleges, construction of Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, more than 60 thousand Amrit Sarovars built, optical fiber network reaching two lakh panchayats, a huge network of canals being laid, four crore concrete houses being built, the poor getting a new shelter, our effort to move forward with the resolve of building three crore new houses.
Our eastern India-North East region is today known for its infrastructure and the biggest benefit of this transformation that we have done has reached those sections of society where rural roads have were built there, which no one used to look at, which no one used to look at, which no one used to look at, which no one used to look at. Dalits, oppressed, exploited, deprived, backward, tribals, people living in forests, people living in far-off mountains, people living in border areas, we have fulfilled their needs.
Fulfilling the needs of our fishermen brothers and sisters, changing the lives of our livestock farmers, in a way, the effort for all-around development has been in our policies, in our intentions, in our reforms, in our programs, in our working style. Fulfilling the needs of our fishermen brothers and sisters, changing the lives of our livestock farmers, in a way, the effort for all-around development has been in our policies, in our intentions, in our reforms, in our programs, in our working style. And the biggest benefit of all these goes to my youth. They get new opportunities, and possibilities are created for them to step into new areas and that is what is giving the maximum employment and they have got the opportunity to get the maximum employment at this time.
Our middle-class family naturally expects quality of life. They give a lot to the country, so it is the responsibility of the country to make continuous efforts to fulfill their expectations of quality of life and their expectations of freedom from the government’s problems. I have dreamt that in 2047 when there will be a dream of developed India, then one of its components will be that there should be less interference of the government in the life of a common man. Where there is a need for the government, there should be no shortage and where there is no impact due to the delay of the government, we are restricted to such a system.
My dear countrymen,
We pay attention to even the smallest needs. We pay attention to the smallest needs and move forward with them. Whether it is the stove burning in the house of our poor, the mother of the poor should never have to sleep shedding tears and for this, we have a scheme of free treatment. Electricity, water, and gas are now in saturation mode and when we talk of saturation, it is 100 percent. When there is saturation, it does not have the color of casteism. When there is saturation, it does not have the color of leftism. When there is the mantra of saturation, then the mantra of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas is realized in the true sense.
To reduce government interference in people’s lives, we have abolished more than 1500 laws for the countrymen, which the government used to burden the common man with thousands of compliances so that the countrymen do not have to get entangled in the web of laws. We have made such laws to send people to jail for small mistakes. We have abolished all the laws that had traditions of sending people to jail for small reasons and have removed the provision of sending people to jail for such laws from the system. Today we talk about the pride of the legacy of independence, the criminal laws that we had for centuries, today we have made a new criminal law which we have made in the form of a judicial code and in which the core is not punishment, but justice to the citizen, this feeling has been strengthened.
We are working on a nationwide mission to create Ease of Living. I appeal to the government for these things at every level. I urge all public representatives, irrespective of their party or state, to take steps for Ease of Living in a mission mode. I want to tell our youth, professionals, and everyone, that wherever you face small problems at your place, keep writing letters to the government regarding solutions. Tell the government that if there is a difficulty without reason, there is no harm in removing it. I firmly believe that today’s governments are sensitive. Every government, whether it is a government of local self-rule a state government, or a central government, will give importance to it.
Reforms in governance, we will have to push forward with full force for our dream of a developed India in 2047 so that opportunities are created in the life of a common man and obstacles keep on getting eliminated. Citizens should get dignity of citizen, respect in their lives, about delivery, no one should ever have to say that this was my right but I did not get it, I did not have to search for it, the delivery system needs more strength in the governance of the government.
You see, when we talk about reforms in the country, today about three lakh institutions are working in the country. Be it Panchayat, Nagar Panchayat, Nagar Palika, Mahanagar Palika, UT, State, District, Centre, there are about three lakh small units. I appeal to these three lakh units today that if you do two reforms in a year at your level, which are needed for the common man, I am not asking much my friends. Be it a Panchayat, a State Government, or any department, just do two reforms in a year and implement them on the ground. You see, we can do about 25-30 lakh reforms in a year in no time. When 25-30 lakh reforms are done, then the confidence of the common man will increase so much. How much its power will help in taking the nation to new heights and therefore we should come forward at our level, get rid of the clutter, and bring about changes, come forward with courage the needs of a common man are small, he is facing problems even at the Panchayat level. If we get rid of those problems, then I am sure that we can achieve our dreams.
My dear countrymen,
Today the country is full of aspirations. The youth of our country wants to reach new heights. They want to scale new heights. And therefore we endeavor to speed up the work in every sector and through that, we should first create new opportunities in every sector. Secondly, we should work towards strengthening the change in the supportive infrastructure that is needed for these changing systems. And the third thing is that we should give priority to the basic amenities of the citizens and give it emphasis. These three things have created an aspirational society in India and as a result, today the society itself is full of confidence. By linking the aspirations of our countrymen with the energy of our youth and the strength of our country, we are moving ahead with a passion to move ahead.
I am sure that we have worked on the opportunity to create new records of employment and self-employment. Today, we have succeeded in doubling the per capita income. India’s contribution to global growth is huge. India’s exports are constantly increasing. Foreign exchange reserves are constantly increasing, they have reached double than before. Global institutions have increased their trust in India. I am sure that India’s direction is right, India’s pace is fast and India’s dreams have power. But along with all this, our path of sensitivity fills us with energy and a new consciousness. Mambhaav (love and affection) is our style of work. We need equanimity as well as Mambhaav (love and affection), and we are moving ahead with that.
Friends,
When I think of the Corona period, if there is any country that has improved its economy the fastest amidst the global pandemic of Corona, then that country is India. Then it seems that our direction is right. When the tricolor is hoisted in every house, rising above caste and creed, then it seems that the direction of the country is right. Today the whole country is tricolor, every house is tricolor, there is no caste, no creed, no one is high, no one is low, and all are Indians. This is the strength of our direction. When we lift 25 crore people out of poverty, then our belief is strengthened that we have maintained the pace and realize the dreams are not far now.
When more than 100 aspiring districts are competing with the best districts of their respective states, and have started matching them, then we feel that both our direction and speed are strong. When our tribal friends get the help, the schemes that were made available to them through PM Jan-Man, the population is very small. But in many remote areas, there are scattered families, we have found them, and have worried about them. Then we realize how much satisfaction we get when we work with sensitivity. We have increased the paid maternity leave for working women from 12 weeks to 26 weeks. Then we do not just respect women, we make decisions with a sensitive attitude toward women. But we make decisions with a sensitive attitude so that the government does not become an obstacle in the need of a mother to make the child growing in her lap a good citizen.
When my Divyang brothers and sisters talk about Indian sign language or the campaign for Sugamya Bharat, they feel that now they also have dignity, and the citizens of the country look at them with respect. And in the Paralympics, our players have started showing new strength. Then it seems that the power of this feeling of ‘Mam-bhava’, the feeling of ‘Mam-bhava’ of all of us is visible. The sensitivity with which we are making decisions towards our transgender community, we are making new laws, we are making efforts to give them a life of respect. Then our direction of change seems right. The Trivid path of these works is done with a sense of service, we are walking on, today we can see a direct benefit of these works in the form of its result.
After 60 years, you have allowed us to serve the country for the third time in a row. My 140 crore countrymen, the blessings you have given me have only one message for me – to serve the people, to serve every family, to serve every sector, and to reach new heights of development by taking the power of the society along with the spirit of service. To carry forward the dream of a developed India by 2047, with this one message, today from the ramparts of the Red Fort, I express my gratitude to crores of countrymen for blessing us, I bow down to them. And I assure them that we have to move ahead to new heights with new enthusiasm. We are not the ones to just sit back and be satisfied with what has happened, that is not in our sanskaar. We want to move ahead to do something more, to move ahead a little more, and to cross some more new heights. We want to make development, prosperity, realizing dreams, and spending life for resolutions our nature, we want to make it the nature of countrymen.
My dear countrymen,
Today, many states have taken good initiatives in the new education policy and because of that, we want to give a boost to our education system by the 21st century. And the way we want to prepare human groups for the dream of a developed India, the new education policy has a very big role to play. I do not want that the youth of my country should be forced to study abroad. Lakhs and crores of rupees of middle-class families should be spent on sending children abroad for studies. We want to develop such an education system here that the youth of my country do not have to go abroad. My middle-class families should not have to spend lakhs and crores of rupees, not only this, such institutions should be built so that they turn their backs on foreign countries to India.
Recently we have rebuilt Nalanda University, which has a glorious history in Bihar. Nalanda University has started functioning once again, but we will have to once again awaken that centuries-old Nalanda spirit in the field of education, we will have to live that Nalanda spirit, and we will have to work with great faith to give new consciousness to the traditions of knowledge of the world. I am sure that the new education policy has emphasized on mother tongue. I will tell the state governments, I will tell all the institutions of the country that the talent of our country should not be hindered due to language. Language should not be obstructed. The power of the mother tongue gives the strength to even the sons of the poorest of the poor mothers of our country to fulfill their dreams and that is why we have to emphasize studying in our mother tongue, the place of mother tongue in life, the place of mother tongue in the family.
My dear countrymen!
The way the world is changing today, the importance of skill has increased a lot. And we want to give the skill a new strength. We want skill development keeping in mind Industry 4.0. We want skill development for capacity building in every field of life, even in the agriculture sector. We want to emphasize new skill development in the field of cleaning as well. And this time we have brought the Skill India Programme in a very broad way. It has been given a big emphasis in the budget too, in this budget we have also emphasized internships so that our youth get experience, their capacity is built, and their strength is visible in the market, in that way, I want to prepare skilled youth. And friends, today looking at the conditions of the world, I can see that the skilled manpower of India, our skilled youth, should make their presence felt in the global job market, we are moving ahead with that dream.
Friends,
The world is changing at a rapid pace, and the importance of science and technology is increasing in every sphere of life. We need to give a lot of emphasis to science. And I saw that after the success of Chandrayaan, a new environment of interest has been created in our schools and colleges towards science and technology, a new interest has increased. Then our educational institutions will have to come forward to nurture this sentiment. The Government of India has also increased research support. We have established more and more chairs. By creating the National Research Foundation, we have brought it under a legal environment and developed a permanent system, so that research gets continuous support and this research foundation can do that work. It is a matter of great pride that in the budget we have decided to give one lakh crore rupees for research and innovation so that we can bring the ideas that our country’s youth have to the ground.
Friends,
Even today, our children are going abroad for medical education. Most of them belong to middle-class families. They spend lakhs and crores of rupees and then we have increased the medical seats to almost one lakh in the last 10 years. Nearly 25 thousand youth go abroad for medical education every year. And they have to go to such countries, sometimes I get surprised when I hear about it and that is why we have decided that in the next 5 years, 75 thousand new seats will be created in the medical line.
My dear countrymen,
Developed India 2047 should also be a healthy India. And when there is a healthy India, then there is a need to focus on the nutrition of the children of today today itself. And that is why we have launched a nutrition campaign by paying special attention to the first generation of developed India. We have started the National Nutrition Mission, we have given priority to nutrition.
My dear countrymen,
It is very important to transform our agriculture system, it is the need of the hour. We have to be free from the traditions that we have been bound to for centuries and we are also helping our farmers for that. We have been continuously working towards transforming it. Today, we are giving easy loans to farmers, helping them with technology. We are working to add value to the produce of the farmer. We make complete arrangements for marketing so that he has a handholding system everywhere from end to end, we are working in that direction.
Today when the whole world is concerned about Mother Earth, the way the health of our Mother Earth is deteriorating day by day due to fertilizers, the productivity of our Mother Earth is getting depleted, it is decreasing, and at that time I want to express my gratitude to the lakhs of farmers of my country, who have chosen the path of natural farming and have taken the responsibility of serving our Mother Earth. And this time in the budget also we have made a very big provision in the budget with very big schemes to give impetus to natural farming.
My dear countrymen,
I see the condition of the world today, the whole world is turning towards holistic health care and then organic food has become their first choice. Today, if any food basket of organic food can be created for the world, then it can be my country’s farmers, it can be my country. That is why we want to move ahead with that dream in the coming days so that the world can meet the demand for organic food and our country can become a basket of organic food.
The lives of farmers should be made easier, villages should have top-class internet connectivity, farmers should get health facilities, smart schools should be available for the children of farmers to study, and employment should be available to the children of farmers. It is becoming very difficult for the whole family to survive on small pieces of land, so we are making a comprehensive effort to provide those skills to their youth so that they can get new jobs, and new sources of income are created.
In the past years, we have worked on the Women-led development model. Be it innovation, employment, or entrepreneurship, women are making strides in every sector. It is not that women are only increasing participation, women are also providing leadership. Today, in many sectors, be it our defense sector, be it our Air Force, our Army, our Navy, or our space sector, we are seeing the strength of our women for the country. But on the other hand, there are some matters of concern and I want to express my pain once again from the Red Fort today. As a society, we will have to seriously think that the country is angry at the atrocities being committed against our mothers, sisters, and daughters. There is anger among the common people. I can feel this anger. The country, society, and our state governments will have to take this seriously. Crimes against women should be investigated as soon as possible. Those who commit demonic acts must be given severe punishment as soon as possible to build trust in society.
I would also like to say that when rape cases and atrocities on women happen, it is discussed a lot, there is a lot of publicity and it is covered in the media. But when such a person with a demonic mindset is punished, it is not seen anywhere in the news, it is lying somewhere in a corner. Now the need of the hour is that there should be a wide discussion about those who are punished so that those who commit such sins also fear that the consequences of committing such sins are that they have to be hanged to death and I think it is very important to create this fear.
My dear countrymen,
Such a habit has developed in our country. We don’t know why, it had entered our minds to underestimate our country and lack of pride in our country. And sometimes, if we were late, we would say “Indian Sign”, we used to say it with shame. We have succeeded in bringing the country out of these things. There was a time when it was said that even toys used to be imported, we have seen those days. Today, I can proudly say that my country’s toys are reaching the world market with their power. Our toys have started getting exported. There was a time when we used to import mobile phones, today an ecosystem for manufacturing mobile phones has been created, a very big hub has been created and today we have started exporting mobile phones to the world. This is the strength of India.
Friends,
Semiconductors are linked with the future. Modern technology is linked, and AI is linked. We have started working on the Semiconductor Mission and why shouldn’t the equipment be Made in India cheap, why shouldn’t the youth of my country dream of this, the talent is here. All such research work is done in India, so now the production will be done in India. Semiconductor work will also be done in India and we have the power to provide end-to-end solutions to the world.
Friends,
There was a time when we had to struggle for 2G. Today we can see in every device that we moved ahead rapidly and the speed with which 5G was rolled out in the entire country. 5G has reached almost all the regions of India. They have been ahead in providing 5G at a fast pace in the world and friends, I told you that we are not going to stop, stopping at 5G is not acceptable to us now. We are already working on 6G in mission mode and we will make our presence felt in the world in that too. I say this with confidence.
My dear colleagues,
Defence Sector, we had become used to it, no matter how much the defense budget was, but nobody ever thought about where the increased defense budget went. The defense budget used to go into purchasing from abroad. Now we want to become self-reliant and I thank our defense forces from the bottom of my heart, they have listed thousands of such things, and they have decided that they will not import from abroad. What it means to live for the nation, has been shown by our army personnel. Now due to this, we are becoming self-reliant in the defence sector. Today, India has got its identity in defense manufacturing and I can say happily today that the country which once used to import every small and big thing of defense from abroad, today gradually we are exporting the defense equipment we are manufacturing to many countries of the world. We are gradually emerging as a defense hub manufacturing in the world. We want to promote the manufacturing sector because it is most important for employment. Today PLI Scheme has been a great success. FDI Reforms have also given us great strength. MSMEs have got a huge boost. A new system has developed and due to that, our manufacturing sector has become a manufacturing hub of the world. As a country which has so much youth power, as a country which has this capability, we want to move ahead with great strength in the world of manufacturing as well as in Industry 4.O. And for this, we have also stressed the skill development required for it. And we have also set new models for skill development. We have included public participation so that we can immediately do skill development as per the requirement. And I am confident that I am saying from the ramparts of the Red Fort that the day is not far when India will be the hub of industrial manufacturing and the world will be looking towards it.
Today, the world’s biggest companies want to invest in India. I have seen this after the elections, most of the people who are asking to meet me in my third term are investors. There are investors from all over the world, who want to come and invest in India. This is a very big golden opportunity. I request the state governments formulate a clear policy to attract investors. Assure them of good governance, and give them confidence in the law and order situation. Every state should come forward in a healthy competition. There should be competition between states to attract investors so that investors will come to their state, the youth of their state will get opportunities locally, and employment opportunities.
If changes are to be made in policies, then states should change policies according to global requirements. If land is required, then states should create land banks. The more proactive states are in working on the single point of good governance, the more efforts they make, and the investors who are coming will never go back. This work cannot be done by the Government of India alone. State governments are very much needed. Because whatever project is going to be set up, will be set up in that state. It has to do day-to-day work with every state. And that is why I would request the states that when the world is getting completely attracted towards India. The whole world is getting committed to investing in India, then it is our responsibility to leave our old habits and come forward with a clear policy. You will see the results in your state and your state will also shine, I assure you this.
Friends
India must be recognized for its best quality. Now we have to focus on the field of design in India for the world. We have to try to make Indian Standards International Standards. When Indian Standards become International Standards, then everything will be easily approved. And this will depend on the quality of our production. It will depend on the quality of our service. It will depend on the quality of our approach. And therefore we have to move ahead by emphasizing quality. We have talent. We can give the world something new in the field of design. We have to move ahead with the call of Design in India. We have to move ahead with the dream of Design in India and Design for the world.
I see that a very big market has emerged in the gaming world. But even today, the influence on the gaming world, especially the people who make those games, the people who produce them, earn from abroad. India has a huge heritage. We can bring a lot of new talent into the gaming world. We can attract every child in the world to the gaming made in our country. I want the children of India, the youth of India, the IT professionals of India, and the AI professionals of India should lead the gaming world. Our products should reach the whole world in the world of gaming, not in playing. And our animators can work all over the world. We can make our presence felt in the world of animation, we should work in that direction.
My dear countrymen,
Today, global warming and climate change are a matter of concern and discussion in every field in the world. India has taken many steps in that direction. We have been reassuring the world, not with words but with our actions, we have assured the world with the results achieved and have also surprised the world. We are the ones who have banned single-use plastic. We have expanded on renewable energy, and we have given new strength to renewable energy. In the coming few years, we are moving towards a net zero future. I remember the countries that had set their targets in the Paris Accord, today I want to tell the world about the power of my countrymen from the ramparts of the Red Fort. What the G-20 countries could not do, the citizens of my country have done it, my countrymen have done it, and Hindustan has done it. If there is anyone in the group of G-20 countries who has completed the targets that we had set in the Paris Accord before time, then it is only my Hindustan, it is only my Bharat. And that is why I feel proud, friends, we have completed the targets of renewable energy. We are working to take renewable energy to 500 GW by 2030, you can imagine how big the target is. People of the world look at me in such a way when they hear the word 500 GW. But today I am confidently telling my countrymen that we will achieve this target too. And this will serve humanity, will serve our future, and will become a guarantee for the bright future of our children. We are moving ahead with the target of making our railways net zero emission by 2030.
Friends,
PM Suryaghar Free Electricity Scheme is going to give it a new strength and the fruits of this change will be received by the common family of my country, especially my middle class, when their electricity bill becomes free. The demand for electric vehicles is increasing. When someone produces electricity from the sun through PM Suryaghar Yojana, then he can also reduce the cost of his vehicle.
Friends,
We want to become a global hub with the Green Hydrogen Mission. Policies have been made very quickly, their implementation is happening very fast and India wants to move in the direction of green hydrogen as a new energy. And all these efforts are being made, there is concern about the climate, there is concern about global warming. But there is a huge possibility of green jobs in it. Therefore, if the importance of green jobs increases in the coming period, then to capture it first, to give opportunities to the youth of my country and to promote a very large area for green jobs.
My dear countrymen,
Today, under this tricolor, those youngsters are sitting with us who have raised the flag of India in the world of the Olympics. I congratulate all the athletes of my country, and all the players of the country on behalf of 140 crore countrymen. I also congratulate them with the belief that we will move forward to achieve new goals with new dreams, new resolutions, and utmost efforts. In the coming days, a very big contingent from India will leave for Paris for the Paralympics. I also extend my heartfelt best wishes to all my Paralympic players.
Friends,
India organized the G-20 in many cities in India. More than 200 events were organized. Such a large and comprehensive G-20 program has never been organized in the whole world. This time it has proved one thing India can organise the biggest of the programmes. India has the highest hospitality capacity of any country. If this has been proved, then friends, India dreams that the Olympics of 2036 should be held on the soil of India. We are preparing for this, we are moving ahead for that.
Friends,
It is our social responsibility to the people of the last section of society, if someone is left behind, it slows down our pace of progress, and therefore even if we want to move ahead, we get success only when we bring those who are behind along with us. And therefore it is the responsibility of all of us that those areas that are left behind in our society even today, those societies which are left behind, those people who are left behind, our small farmers, my tribal brothers and sisters living in our forests, our mothers and sisters, our laborers, our working friends, our working people, we have to make full efforts to bring them at par with us. But now the pace has picked up, now we will not have to do that for a long time, very soon they will reach us, they will come at par with us, our strength will increase a lot. And we have to do this work with great sensitivity. And a very big opportunity is coming for this.
I believe that what can be a bigger occasion than this in terms of sensitivity? We know that even before the 1857 freedom struggle, there was a tribal youth in our country who had given a tough time to the British. At the age of 20-22, he had a tough time with the British, and today people worship him as Bhagwan Birsa Munda. Bhagwan Birsa Munda’s 150th birth anniversary is coming. Let this be a reason for inspiration for all of us. Who can be a bigger inspiration than Bhagwan Birsa Munda for the passion that even a small person has for the country? Come, when we celebrate Bhagwan Birsa Munda’s 150th birth anniversary, let our sensitivity grow, let our feelings towards the society grow, let us take every person of the society, the poor, the Dalits, the backward, the tribals, everyone along with us, we have to take this resolution.
My dear countrymen!
We are moving ahead with determination, and we are moving ahead a lot, but it is also true that some people cannot see progress, and some people cannot think about the welfare of India unless their welfare is done, they do not like anyone else’s welfare. There is no dearth of such people with a distorted mindset. The country will have to avoid such people. They are people who are drowned in the pit of despair. When a handful of such people who are drowned in the pit of despair, develop a perversion in their lap, then it becomes the cause of destruction, becomes the cause of annihilation, takes the path of anarchy, and then the country suffers such a huge loss that we have to work hard again to compensate for it. Therefore, these small pessimistic elements are not just disappointing, but perversion is also growing in their lap. This perversion is dreaming of destruction and annihilation, it is trying to connect the fabric. The country will have to understand this. But I want to tell my countrymen that with our good intentions, our honesty, our dedication towards the nation, despite all the circumstances, we will win the hearts of even those who are on the opposite path, and I want to assure you that we will never step back from our resolve to take the country forward.
Friends,
There are challenges, countless challenges, there are challenges within as well as challenges outside and as we become stronger, as our attention increases, the challenges are going to increase. The external challenges are going to increase even more and I am well aware of that. But I want to tell these powers that India’s development does not bring crisis for anyone. Even when we were prosperous in the world, we never pushed the world into war. We are the country of Buddha, war is not our path. And so the world should not be worried, I assure the world community that you should understand the Indian culture, understand the thousands of years of history of India, do not consider us a crisis, do not get involved in those tricks due to which the land which can do good to the entire human race has to work harder. Still, I want to tell the countrymen, that no matter how many challenges there are, the challenge is like India. We will not falter, we will not tire, we will not stop, we will not bow down. We will leave no stone unturned to fulfill our resolutions, to change the fate of 140 crore countrymen, to ensure their fate, and to realize the dreams of the nation. I assure you that we will defeat all those with bad intentions with our good intentions.
My dear countrymen,
Sometimes, the change in the mindset of the society also becomes a cause of great challenge. Every citizen of our country has been troubled by the termite of corruption. Corruption at every level has broken the faith of the common man in the system. The anger that he feels at the injustice towards his ability and capacity harms the progress of the nation. And that is why I have started a war against corruption on a large scale. I know, I have to pay the price for this, my reputation has to pay, but my reputation cannot be bigger than the nation, and my dreams cannot be bigger than the dreams of the nation. And that is why my fight against corruption will continue with honesty, it will continue at a rapid pace and action will be taken against the corrupt. I want to create an environment of fear for the corrupt so that I can stop the tradition of looting the common citizen of the country. But the biggest new challenge has come, we have to deal with the corrupt, but the change that has come at a higher level in the social life is the biggest challenge as well as the biggest concern for the society. Can anyone imagine that in my own country, despite having such a great constitution, some people are glorifying corruption? They are openly hailing corruption. The effort being made to sow such seeds in society, the glorification of corruption, and the continuous effort to increase the acceptability of the corrupt, have become a big challenge for a healthy society, has become a matter of great concern, has become a matter of great challenge. Only by maintaining distance from the corrupt in the society, any corrupt person will be afraid of going on that path. If it is glorified then even those who do not indulge in corruption today will feel that it becomes a color of prestige in society and it is not bad to follow that path.
My dear countrymen,
Whatever has happened in Bangladesh, I can understand the concern of a neighboring country about it. I hope that the situation there will soon become normal. Especially the concern of 140 crore countrymen is that the safety of Hindus, minorities, and that community should be ensured. India always wants our neighboring countries to walk on the path of happiness and peace. We commit to peace, it is our culture. In the coming days, our good wishes will always be there in the development journey of Bangladesh because we are people who think about the welfare of mankind.
My dear countrymen,
Our Constitution is completing 75 years. The 75-year journey of the Indian Constitution has played a very important role in uniting the country and making it the best. The Constitution of our country has played a very important role in strengthening the democracy of India. Our Constitution has done a great job of providing security to the Dalits, the oppressed, the exploited, and the deprived of our country. Now, when we are going to celebrate 75 years of the Constitution, we countrymen need to emphasize the sense of duty specified in the Constitution and when I talk about duty, I do not want to burden only the citizens. The Central Government also has duties, every employee of the Central Government also has duties, the State Governments also have duties, and the employees of the State Governments also have duties. Every local self-governance institution, whether it is a Panchayat, Municipality, Municipal Corporation, Tehsil, or District, everyone has duties. But at the same time, 140 crore countrymen have duties. If we all perform our duties together, we will automatically become the means to protect the rights of others and when the duty is performed, the protection of rights is implicit, there is no need to make any separate effort for it. I want that we will move ahead with this feeling. Our democracy will also be strengthened. Our strength will increase further and we will move forward with a new power.
My dear countrymen,
In our country, the Supreme Court has repeatedly discussed the Uniform Civil Code. Many times orders have been given because a large section of the country believes and there is truth in it that the Civil Code that we are living with is a kind of Communal Civil Code, a discriminatory Civil Code. When we are celebrating 75 years of the Constitution and the spirit of the Constitution also tells us to do what the Supreme Court of the country also tells us to do and then the dream of the Constitution makers, it is the responsibility of all of us to fulfill that dream and I believe that there should be a discussion on this subject in the country, there should be a wide discussion. Everyone should come up with their views and the laws which divide the country based on religion, which become the reason for high and low, such laws cannot have any place in the modern society and therefore I would say, now the country demands that there should be a Secular Civil Code in the country, we have spent 75 years in the Communal Civil Code. Now we will have to move towards the Secular Civil Code, and only then we will get relief from the discrimination happening based on religion in the country, from which common citizens feel distanced.
My dear countrymen,
When I always talk about a concern in the country, I say that nepotism and casteism are causing a lot of harm to India’s democracy. We have to free the country and politics from nepotism and casteism. Today, I see that the youth in front of me has written about the organization named My Bharat. It is written very well. My Bharat has many missions. One of its missions is that we want to bring forward one lakh such youth as people’s representatives in the country’s political life as soon as possible. In the beginning, we want to bring forward one lakh such youth whose family members have no political background. Whose parents, siblings, uncles, maternal uncles, and maternal aunts have never been in politics. They have never been in politics in any generation. One lakh fresh blood for such promising youth, whether they are in Panchayat, Nagar Palika, Zila Parishad, Vidhan Sabha, or Lok Sabha. One lakh fresh youngsters, whose families do not have any kind of political history, should come into politics so that there can be freedom from casteism, freedom from nepotism, and democracy can prosper and they don’t need to join a particular party, they should go to the party of their choice. By joining that party, they can come forward as people’s representatives.
The country should decide that in the coming days, one lakh such youngsters whose families are not connected with politics will get such fresh blood, then new thinking will come, and new capabilities will also come. Democracy will prosper and therefore we have to move ahead in this direction I would like frequent elections in the country are become an obstacle to the progress of this country, creating a deadlock. Today it has become easy to link any scheme with elections. Because every three months or six months elections are going on somewhere or the other. If you present any scheme, you will see in the media that when elections came, this was done, that was done. Every work has been colored with the color of elections. And that is why there has been a wide discussion in the country. All political parties have put forth their views. A committee has prepared a very good report. The country will have to come forward for a One Nation One Election. From the Red Fort, in the presence of the Tricolour, I appeal to the political parties of the country, I appeal to the people who understand the Constitution of the country, that for the progress of India, the maximum use of India’s resources should be made for the common people, and for this, we should come forward to realise the dream of One Nation One Election.
My dear countrymen,
The year 2047 is the golden era of India. A developed India is waiting for us. The country is committed to overcoming all obstacles, hurdles, and challenges and moving ahead with a firm resolve. And friends, I can see that there is no hesitation in my thoughts. There is no veil in front of my dreams. I can see that this country has been built due to the hard work of 140 crore countrymen, the blood of our ancestors flows in our veins. If those 40 crore people can fulfill the dream of independence, then 140 crore countrymen can realize the dream of a prosperous India. 140 crore countrymen can realize the dream of a developed India. As I had said earlier also that in my third term, the country will become the third economy, but I will work three times harder, I will work three times faster, I will work with three times more breadth so that the dreams I have for the country are fulfilled very soon. My every moment is for the country, every second of mine is for the country, every particle of mine is only and only for Maa Bharati, and hence come with this commitment 24×7 and 2047. I appeal to the countrymen, let us make the dreams that our ancestors had dreamed a resolution, add our dreams, add our efforts, and let us build a golden India in the 21st century which is India’s century, let us build a developed India in the same century and move ahead by fulfilling those dreams and Independent India is moving towards a new milestone after a journey of 75 years, so we should leave no stone unturned. And I assure you, I will leave no stone unturned in the responsibility you have given me, I will never lag in hard work, I never shy away from courage, and I am never afraid of facing challenges, why? Because I live for you, I live for your future, I am living for the bright future of Mother India and to fulfill those dreams, today let us move forward with firm resolve under the shadow of the national flag, under the shadow of the tricolor, say this with me-
Long live Mother India.
Long live Mother India.
Long live Mother India.
Vande Mataram.
Vande Mataram.
Vande Mataram.
Vande Mataram.
