PM Narendra Modi has reached the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro to attend the G20 summit. During this, he met the leaders of many countries including Italy, Indonesia, Norway, and Portugal on the sidelines of the G20 summit. During this meeting, ways to improve and strengthen relations between the two countries were discussed. PM Modi met his Italian counterpart Georgia Meloni on Monday. PM Narendra Modi posted on X, “Glad to meet Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni on the sidelines of the G20 Rio de Janeiro Summit. Our talks focused on deepening ties in the areas of defense, trade, security, and technology. We also talked about enhancing cooperation in culture, education, and other such areas. India-Italy friendship can greatly contribute to making the planet a better place.” The Ministry of External Affairs also posted after this meeting. The Ministry of External Affairs further said that the two leaders welcomed the India-Italy Joint Strategic Action Plan 2025-29 to further advance and accelerate the long-term India-Italy bilateral relations. Modi also met Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto and discussed ways to improve relations in the field of security and health care. Regarding this, PM Narendra Modi shared pictures of the two leaders on social media and wrote in the post, ‘It was a pleasure to meet President Prabowo Subianto during the G20 Summit in Brazil.’
