Prime Minister will visit Varanasi on June 18
Prime Minister Modi will visit his parliamentary constituency Varanasi for the first time on June 18 after the formation of the government for the third consecutive time at the Center. During the one-day visit, the Prime Minister will address the Kisan Sammelan and release the 17th installment. Under this, an amount of 20000 crores will be transferred to the accounts of 9.3 farmers. Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said on the official Twitter handle that more than Rs 350 crore will be transferred directly to the bank accounts of 17.5 lakh farmers of Assam.
What is PM Kisan Yojana?
Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM Kisan Nidhi) is the most ambitious scheme of the central government. Its entire expenditure is borne by the government. The scheme was launched on 1 December 2018. It is one of the world’s largest schemes that directly benefit farmers. The purpose of this scheme is to provide financial assistance to farmers for farming. Through the scheme, eligible land-holding farmer families are given financial assistance of Rs 6,000 annually. This money is given in three installments of Rs 2,000 each during the year.
