An incident that puts humanity on shame has emerged from Panipat in Haryana. A man turned his wife’s life upside down for the sake of money. When his wife tried to resist him, he not only attempted to sell his wife off to his associates, but also shared pornographic videos of her on social media using a fake account that he created. Everyone is astonished to know how someone could stoop down this low. So in this painful story let us try to understand how the victim is changing her narrative towards justice.

How Her Fairytale Marriage Became A Living Nightmare?

In 2020, the victim was married to a guy called Pankaj. Initially everything new came along shouldered with excitement and happiness but looking at the husband’s behavior during and after the honeymoon phase, it was evident to her that he was a compulsive alcoholic. To her amazement, the husband turned out to be an avid gambler too. Like most Indian men, he started getting obsessed with the idea of getting ‘rich quick’. A greedy man which led to asking for a dowry considering his wife. Small to big issues were a routine beatings, verbal disses followed. As she struggled so hard to cope with the husband’s alter ego, the victim says that she had begun noticing for worse is husband’s behavior shift. One thing was clear from the onset – the man had made it his sole goal to ruthlessly monetize his existence on this earth.

Conspiracy to serve wife in front of friends

Things turned cruel when the husband began to invite over his friends. “If you want to stay at home, you will have to sleep with my friends,” he told his wife straight to her face. It was very clear that he was trying to con his friends out of some cash. She was protesting, and so she was locked in a room. In her own words, “My husband used to so shamelessly tell me, ‘Do whatever you want to do, it is your wish.’” This is the sort of things that make you believe that he went beyond all feeble limits of civility. For the wife, this was a time of severe both physical as well as a mental agony.

Unsanctioned activities involving adult films with fabricated identification

Violations of the law did not begin or end with him. His husband went one step further and created fictitious social media profiles of his wife, on which he uploaded pornographic material. In his eyes, the means justified the ends: “I want my payday, and will do anything to get it.” Repeated attempts to seek help only resulted in further harm. The wife was kicked out of the house with her daughter, forced to seek shelter.

Life has been reduced to fragile, unyielding pain for this woman as her world has turned upside down, but she is brimming with determination.
