In the wake of India's recent airstrikes, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed strong condemnation, describing the event as a provocative act that risks regional peace and stability.
In a public statement, Prime Minister Sharif urged the international community to take immediate notice, labeling India's actions as "aggressive" and warning that Pakistan is prepared to respond appropriately to safeguard its territorial integrity. Sharif emphasized that such actions would only escalate existing tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbors.
Sharif's statement followed the Indian Air Force's operation, dubbed 'Operation Sindoor', which targeted alleged terror camps within Pakistani territory, causing significant panic across Pakistan. The Pakistani government vehemently denies the existence of any terror infrastructure on its soil, accusing India of violating international law and territorial sovereignty.
Amid rising tensions, Pakistan has placed its military on high alert, reinforcing defenses along the Line of Control (LoC). PM Sharif also convened an emergency National Security Committee (NSC) meeting to assess the situation and formulate a strategic response.
The escalation between the two nations has drawn international attention, prompting calls for restraint from major global powers, who are urging dialogue and diplomatic engagement to prevent further deterioration of the situation.
India, meanwhile, has maintained that its actions were a necessary measure aimed at dismantling terror networks threatening national security.
