In light of the terrorist attack that killed 26 tourists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam, security forces are now in possession of working sketches of three assailants who actively participated in the horrific act. The attack took place at Baisaran meadow, an exquisite tourist site close to Pahalgam which is often referred to as ‘mini Switzerland’ due to its stunning scenery.

What we know so far:

The incident included four operational shooters that indiscriminately shot a group of over 100 tourists. Aadil Guree and Asif Sheikh, along with three other accomplices, are believed to have played a supporting role in the shooting. These names have surfaced during the preliminary investigations, but no arrests have been made so far.

To aid the fledgling search efforts, sketches of three of the most active attackers were circulated publicly, however, surveillance in the rest of the region has not stopped. The troops are remaining vigilant through the entire area carrying out searches, placing blockades, and setting up observation posts.

Government Mourning and Response:
The situation was closely supervised by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who flagged off to Jammu and Kashmir. He stated, “Paid the last respects of the deceased of the Pahalgam Terror Attack with a heavy heart. Bharat will never bow down to terror. The engine of this dastardly terror attack will not be spared.”

He also held discussions regarding security preparations and met with the Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to streamline support for the families of the victims.

Increased Public Security and Support:

Jammu and Kashmir are under Sonic 3 of Vigilance Island. Security around tourist areas and conduits are on utmost standby for any additional occurrences.

The uncovering of the attackers’ sketches also idpoints synergy with the public towards solving the case, advancing the examination. Initiating measures and combining them with strong phrases regarding the proof that the state intends to take demonstrates the unity of the nation even with reverance for human loss.
