Authorities have released the names of all 26 individuals who lost their lives in the recent terror attack in Baisaran Valley, Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. The list includes a wide range of victims—a Navy officer, a tech professional based in the US, a Nepalese national, and an excise inspector from Bihar.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah paid tribute to the deceased by laying wreaths on Wednesday and reassured the families and survivors that justice will be served.

In response to the attack, security has been significantly ramped up along the India-Nepal border, especially in the Sonauli region. The Uttar Pradesh Police, Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), and intelligence agencies are coordinating efforts to block any potential terrorist movement across the porous border.

Security Measures Include:

Compulsory identity verification at all checkpoints

Round-the-clock patrolling and dog squad deployment

Drone surveillance and CCTV monitoring at all SSB posts

Metal detectors at key crossings like Sonauli and Tuthibari

Enhanced cooperation with Nepalese security agencies
