Suspense crime, Digital Desk : The attackers are still on the run as of now, ten days after the April 22 terror incident on Pahalgam, Jammu, and Kashmir which mistreated 26 individuals. As for the NIA, it claims that two Pakistanis and a local Kashmiri, along with a fourth accomplice, are assumed to be on the lower sides of South Kashmir’s upper regions.

NIA representatives disclosed to NDTV and India Today that the attackers had planned their camping site at Baisaran Valley for two days before the incident. They had initial plans of other tourist spots too like Aru and Betaab valleys but dropped the plans because of the heavy security presence. The terrorists finally decided on Baisaran Meadow which is only accessible by foot or pony.

Locals Say These Escape Techniques Are 'Jungle Warfare'

It is said that the terrorists are trained in jungle glamping and have the basic supplies to live off the land in the south of Kashmir, particularly the area of Anantnag. The rough and remote settings along with thick foliage that block sight to under ten meters adds to the difficulty of the search operation.

Coordinated strikes like these have been previously perpetrated in Pakistan by trained militants, also in these Southeast region forests over the past 4 years. These assaulting men are given modern arms such as US-made assault rifles, high-grade ammunition, and even military grade bulletproof vests.

One of the Indian Express senior police sources mentioned the training standards as well as the weapons used demonstrate the possible use of active or ex-Pakistan military personnel.

Unfinished Search Along Patterns of Increasing Risks

Combing operations are being conducted by security forces throughout the forest belts from Kathua all the way to the South Kashmiri region. Officials are on alert that terrorists are highly trained and skilled in surviving in rugged terrains which pose a serious threat to national security.

India’s Inter Services counter terrorism force is primarily focusing on interception of communication signals in the region and tapping into civilian channels for underground informants. There are ongoing investigations also looking into the supporting terrorists scouts at predefined locations and accompanying logistical rendezvous known as Over Ground Workers or OGWs.
