Suspense crime, Digital Desk : At the Computex technology event, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang highlighted Taiwan's importance in the international technological supply chain. Huang announced the construction of a new corporate headquarters in Taipei, alongside the new AI Supercomputer, which he said was powered by AI. The announcements reinforce Nvidia's reliance on Taiwan's electronics manufacturing industry, and the company's collaboration with TSMC and Foxconn.
Foxconn, in conjunction with the Taiwanese authorities, will develop a high-performance AI Supercomputer that uses 10,000 Blackwell chips. This Nvidia AI Supercomputer platform will be tailored to serve Nvidia clients in the top tier of Eunuch corporations, and as such, it represents an investment of hundreds of millions of dollars. Taiwan’s Fablotech infrastructure stands as a testimony to the country’s role in expanding Nvidia’s ambition towards AI infrastructure.
Huang also showed off Nvidia's later constructions poised to be built in Taipei, dubbed “Constellation.” They are to span the Beitou district of Taipei. As part of the future growth plans, Nvidia aims to give full consideration to the changing business conditions in the area.
Exploring Restrictions on Trade with China as it Applies to US Policy
These revelations accompany the shifts in trading policies of the United States. Recently, Trump’s administration lifted the AI chip export to many nations and increased the restrictions on China. Nvidia’s H20 chip, which was designed to meet earlier export rule’s provisions, is no longer being modified to comply with new restrictions. Despite all this, Nvidia announcing the opening of a research center in Shanghai indicates that the company is still keen on the Chinese market.
Policy Formulation Regarding the Mitigation of Transshipment Risks
In answer to questions from US lawmakers regarding the potential AI chip redirection to China, Huang refuted the allegation by saying, “There’s no evidence of any AI chip diversion.” His words were more directed towards regulatory capture explanation of why governance cannot be avoided and enforcing legislation.
