Police said that on Saturday, two men on a motorcycle shot NTPC’s official Gaurav Kumar, aged 42, in Hazaribagh district.
Superintendent of Police Arvind Kumar Singh reported that Kumar Gaurav, who was serving as Deputy General Manager in charge of dispatch at NTPC’s Zeredari Coal Mines Project, has been murdered and six individuals have been arrested for further questioning.
According to police, the two assailants stopped his car and shot him while it was around 9:30AM and parked near Fatah More which is close to the Katkamdag Police Station.
Gaurav was travelling from his quarter in Hazaribagh town to the coal mine site during that time, as it was believed he was still working there.
Singh disclosed that the individual who operated the vehicle that Gaurav was in, suddenly went missing along with the rest of the passengers after the incident occurred.
The SP disclosed that there is now a special investigation team (SIT) which consists of Barkagaon Sub-Divisional Police Officer Pawan Kumar as the leader who has been assigned to try to solve the case.
Efforts have now commenced in relation to capturing the individuals responsible for Gaurav's murder.
