Neeraj Chopra qualified for the finals in Javelin, threw this many meters away

Paris Olympics 2024 Neeraj Chopra: Indian players have performed very well in the Paris Olympics 2024. India has won three bronze medals in the current Olympics and all three have come from shooting. But Indians have very high expectations from athletics. Because Neeraj Chopra is challenging there in javelin. Now in the qualifying round, Neeraj has thrown his first throw to a distance of 89.34 meters and has qualified for the final. A gold medal is expected from him. 

Arshad Nadeem also qualified for the final

Neeraj Chopra has thrown the best throw of his season. He crossed his best throw of 88.36 meters. Which he made in the Doha Diamond League in May 2024. On the other hand, Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem has also qualified for the final with a throw of 86.59 meters in his first attempt. To reach the final, the player has to throw up to 84 meters. 

 

 

Teen Jenna misses her chance

India’s teenager Jena did not perform well in the qualifying round and failed to qualify for the final. He finished 9th in Group A with his best throw of 80.73 meters. Jena sent his javelin to 80.73 meters on his first attempt and then fouled on his second attempt. He needed a throw of 84 meters in his last attempt but he managed to cover a distance of 80.21 meters. Which was not enough for the final.

12 players have qualified for the javelin final. These include Neeraj Chopra (89.34), Anderson Peters (88.63), Julian Weber (87.76), Arshad Nadeem (86.59), Julius Yego (85.97), Luiz Mauricio da Silva (85.91), Jakub Wadlejch (85.63), Toni Keranen (85.27), Adrian Mardare (84.13), Oliver Helander (83.81), Keshorn Walcott (83.02) and Lassi Etelatalo (82.91).
