The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rain and thunderstorms across several parts of India on Tuesday, August 25. Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand are among the regions likely to see rain, thunderstorms and gusty winds.
Some areas may receive intense rainfall, while winds could reach up to 75 kmph in parts of Jammu and Kashmir. The IMD has also warned of possible flash floods, landslides and mudslides in vulnerable hilly areas.
Delhi-NCR weather: Noida, Gurugram may see heavy rain and storms
Delhi and neighbouring NCR areas, including Noida, Ghaziabad, Faridabad and Gurugram, are likely to experience heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds on August 25.
According to the forecast, winds may reach up to 60 kmph across parts of Delhi-NCR. Rain and thunderstorms could affect visibility and travel conditions in some areas.
Uttar Pradesh weather: Heavy rain alert in several districts
Several districts of Uttar Pradesh are likely to receive heavy rainfall and thunderstorms. The forecast covers Varanasi, Prayagraj, Ayodhya, Mathura, Kanpur, Jhansi, Etawah, Sonbhadra, Bijnor and Lalitpur, among other areas.
Rainfall activity is expected to continue across parts of the state, with thunderstorms and gusty winds possible in some districts.
Bihar weather: Rain, thunderstorms and winds up to 50 kmph
Bihar is also expected to see heavy rain and thunderstorms on August 25. The forecast includes Lakhisarai, Madhubani, Bhagalpur, Kishanganj, Purnia, Begusarai, Vaishali, Jehanabad, Siwan, Darbhanga and Buxar.
Winds may reach up to 50 kmph in affected areas, while thunderstorms and lightning are also possible.
Madhya Pradesh weather: Heavy rain likely in several districts
Madhya Pradesh is likely to experience intense rainfall on August 25. The forecast covers Narsinghpur, Ujjain, Dhar, Datia, Khandwa, Mandla, Ratlam, Alirajpur, Seoni, Narmadapuram, Shivpuri, Sidhi and Khargone.
Strong winds of up to 50 kmph are also expected in some areas, along with thunderstorms.

Himachal Pradesh weather: Heavy rain, storms and strong winds
Himachal Pradesh is also under a heavy rain and storm forecast. Lahaul-Spiti, Bilaspur, Kangra, Una, Kullu, Solan, Hamirpur and Mandi are among the districts mentioned in the forecast.
Wind speeds may reach up to 70 kmph in some areas.
Rajasthan weather: Rain and thunderstorms likely
Several districts of Rajasthan are likely to receive rain and thunderstorms on August 25. The forecast covers Sri Ganganagar, Pali, Karauli, Baran, Deeg, Churu, Jhalawar, Chittorgarh, Balotra, Kota, Rajsamand, Hanumangarh, Bharatpur, Jaipur, Udaipur and Bikaner.
Wind gusts may reach up to 50 kmph in affected areas.
Uttarakhand weather: Heavy rain and storms forecast

East and northeast India: Rainfall to remain active
Fairly widespread rainfall is expected over the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim through August 28.
Jharkhand is also likely to receive fairly widespread rain through August 28, while Bihar is expected to see similar rainfall activity on August 25 and 26.
