Alongside the Delhi rTraffic Police, the Delhi State Legal Services Authority has proclaimed adalat’s which intergrate with local courts, National Lok Adalat 2025 for the resolution of pending traffic fines. This year’s first Lok Adalat is the first for 2025 and functions as an amicable settlement or redressal system for disputes or cases pending in court.

All types of traffic challans and notices of vehicles (commercial included) that are pending with the Delhi traffic police portal as of 30/11/24 will be eligible for approval at the Lok Adalat.

The Special Commissioner (Traffic) of Delhi Police, Ajay Chaudhry, appealed to all vehicle owners to avail the opportunity to clear their endless checkpoint tile challenged at the Lok Adalat sanctioned access to held on March 8, 2025. “I encourage vehicle owners to avail of this opportunity to settle their pending Delhi Traffic Police candid and unobtrusive expenses amogst which are spot challans, GRAP norm violation pollution fines, bloting notices, and a whole ensemble at National Lok Adalat,” he told ET Wealth Online.”

Where and how many challans can be paid off?  

The Lok Adalat shall be held at the complexes of Dwarka Court, Karkardooma Court, Patiala House Court, Rohini Court, Rouse Avenue Court, Saket Court, Tis Hazari Court and and all other courts under the Delhi Traffic Police.

The Department informed that as many as 1,80,000 challans are expected to be settled in a single day. “A maximum of five notices and two challans can be settled per private vehicle. The limit for commercial vehicles is two notices or challans.”  

As many as 180 Lok Adalat benches will be constituted on March 8 and each of them will handle up to 1,000 traffic challans.

The other category include:  

• Bank recovery cases  
• Consumer disputes  
• Family disputes (excludes divorce cases)  
• Land acquisition cases  
• Labour disputes  
• Other civil cases  

This list is not exhaustive, as two broad categories of cases awaiting consideration are still marked National Lok Adalat – Traffic Police and others. 

The following Lok Adalat is on schedule for May 10 and has further been slated for September 13 and December 13.
