More than 150 trains canceled due to cyclonic storm ‘Dana’, see the full list; Know what the railway said

Kolkata: There is a possibility of severe cyclonic storm Dana hitting the coast of Odisha and West Bengal. An alert has also been issued regarding this. It is feared that cyclone Dana may hit the Odisha-West Bengal coast on October 25. Given the possibility of cyclone Dana, more than 150 express and passenger trains passing through the South Eastern Railway (SER) area have been canceled. An official of the South-East Railway has given information about the cancellation of trains.

South-East Railway official said that the canceled trains include Howrah-Secunderabad Falaknuma Express, Kamakhya-Yeshwantpur AC Express, Howrah-Puri Shatabdi Express, Howrah-Bhubaneshwar Shatabdi Express, and Howrah-Yeshwantpur Express. SER official said that the canceled trains were scheduled to depart from their originating stations from 23 to 25 October. If needed, more trains passing through the South-East region can be canceled. Let us tell you that the Kolkata-headquartered SER region includes West Bengal, Odisha Jharkhand, etc.

The meteorological department gave information.

According to the Meteorological Department office, the pressure formed over the east-central Bay of Bengal can turn into a severe cyclonic storm. This cyclonic storm can cross the Odisha-West Bengal coasts on October 25 at a speed of 100-110 kmph to 120 kmph. A senior official said that due to the possibility of a cyclonic storm, Kolkata Airport officials have started preparing to deal with any situation before October 25. He said that the airport infrastructure and drainage system are being inspected and standard operating procedures like all other servicing are being checked.
