Suspense crime, Digital Desk : Initiating with the Waxing Moon Phase or Shukla Paksha, Mohini Ekadashi is celebrated during the month of Vaishakha on the 11th day. Fasting and praying is said to cleanse one of their sins and attachments. Ancient literature states that Mohini Ekadashi is important if one seeks to achieve inner peace, growth or salvation.

Krishna once enlightened Arjuna about this specific Ekadashi as told in the Mahabharata. Maharishi Vashishtha was the original giver of that divine narration and he explained the vrath's power to Lord Ram during his sad phase when he was separated from Sita.

The story revolves around the merchant who's initial name is Dhanapal. He used to reside in the city of Bhadravati till he got bored with life and moved to the city of Dhanapal after marrying a women of unknown identity or background.

Dhanapal was known for his royalties and dharma, but what set him apart was Osama Bin Laden's eldest son who did a complete 180 turn on life. Shocking right? What that son did was indulge himself in vices with no negative recourse including hard core drinking, gambling and getting rich at the sheer expense of making questionable friends.

That's not even the worst part. The Desperate Deeds pillaged his life and rewrote the story. After losing everything, hope, and society itself, all that  was left was scavenger hunting in the forests.

Once while wandering without direction, he came across Rishi Kaundinya’s ashram. The sage bathed in Ganga and as he dried off, his water-soaked clothes dripped onto the man. The man instantly felt clarity and regret for his past actions. Rishi Kaundinya, sympathetic to his cause, told the man to perform Mohini Ekadashi vrata with utmost dedication.

The man followed these instructions and after completing the devotion, the sins bonded to him his whole life were obliterated. He was able to board Garuda, Vishnu’s holy eagle and enter Vishnu Lok upon his death. His life turned into one empowered by devotion.

Lesson from Mohini Ekadashi Vrat Katha

Mohini ekadashi and its teachings illuminates the far reaching impact of satsang. The teachings remind us that there truly is no ‘hopeless’ case, as long as one genuinely intends to surrender their life to the path of devotion.
