Suspense crime, Digital Desk : A major plagiarism controversy has erupted in the Malayalam film industry, centered around superstar Mohanlal's upcoming film, Thudarum. Independent filmmaker Sanal Kumar Sasidharan has publicly accused the film's creators of stealing a screenplay he had written specifically for Mohanlal years ago.

In a detailed Facebook post, Sasidharan claimed that the plot of Thudarum, which is set to be directed by the acclaimed Lijo Jose Pellissery and written by P.F. Mathews, is a "blatant copy" of a script he developed. He stated that he had discussed this very story with Mohanlal back in 2017 for a project that was announced but ultimately never produced.

Sasidharan expressed his shock and disappointment, alleging that the core idea he had pitched to the superstar has been repurposed without his credit or consent. "It is a story that I discussed with Mohanlal to make a film," he wrote, calling the situation a clear case of intellectual property theft.

The accusation pits a celebrated arthouse director against a mainstream powerhouse team. Lijo Jose Pellissery is one of modern Indian cinema's most respected directors, known for films like Jallikattu and Angamaly Diaries, making the charge of plagiarism particularly explosive.

Sasidharan has called for legal action and urged the Film Employees Federation of Kerala (FEFKA) to intervene in the dispute to protect the rights of writers. As of now, Mohanlal, Lijo Jose Pellissery, and P.F. Mathews have not publicly responded to the allegations. The controversy has sent shockwaves through the industry, leaving fans and film critics eagerly awaiting the next development in this high-profile creative dispute.
