On April 14, a 16-year-old student of class 10 from Noida was reported missing. He was located at New Delhi Railway Station on April 16. The student told the police that he ran away to avoid arguments with his parents who were against him joining the Indian Army.

From his side, the student claims that he left home to attend coaching classes, but did not go to the class instead. He went AWOL from his coaching center. The student did not inform anyone about his decision and was located in Noida the following weekend. For this reason, the parents contacted the police to file a missing person report when the center informed them of his absence.

Police Respond Following Social Media Outrage

A special team of the police was launched after the family initiated a social media uproar by posting the boy's details and pictures across Facebook, Twitter, and WhatsApp. The appeal received a considerable amount of attention which more likely than not assisted in reaching the required for the so called center. It also aided in expediting the sobering search.
