Suspense crime, Digital Desk : An Air India flight from Mumbai to London became the scene of a serious health scare after five passengers and two crew members fell ill mid-flight, raising concerns about potential food poisoning from the in-flight meals.
The incident occurred on flight AI-131. During the long-haul journey, the affected individuals began showing signs of sickness. The flight crew, handling the situation professionally, decided it was safe to continue the journey to its destination while immediately arranging for medical assistance to be on standby upon arrival.
Upon its scheduled landing at London's Heathrow Airport, the aircraft was met by a dedicated medical team. The seven affected individuals received immediate medical attention to address their symptoms.
Air India has officially acknowledged the incident and has launched a full investigation to determine the cause of the illness. In a statement, the airline expressed its regret for the discomfort caused to its passengers and crew.
"Air India confirms that five passengers and two crew members on our flight AI-131 from Mumbai to London on June 23 fell ill and were provided with medical assistance upon the flight's arrival at London Heathrow," the airline stated. "We are in touch with the affected individuals and are looking into the matter."
The investigation will likely focus on the catering and food handling processes to identify the source of the suspected food poisoning.
